    Hi all
Perhaps I've done this a bit wrong but started to ask for stuff and going to pick up Stuff even before I introduced myself (did not know this page was on)

I'm an old boy !!!! Well young at heart early 50's

A good mate of mine got me back into bikes after many, many years away
I bought a 955 daytona and took it on the track, not the best bike for the track, I know, but I was hooked on track days
I then bought a SRAD 600 (that must be swearing in this forum) then wanted to get something a bit better bought a damaged K5 600 (swearing again) and replaced the damaged bits for track panels and wow and old boy going well :D !

Ok now onto something more interesting !
My mate got a 675 and I fell in love (don't tell her indoors) I never got to ride it and neither did he but I wanted one
I researched the 675 and was already hooked without even riding one
Kept looking all this year but all on fleabay were so expensive until I came across a very poorly 2010 model that needed me and my tool box plus what i thought was a reasonable amount of pennies (if I learn to attach photo,s i will put a picture on)

    The 675 story begins
After a few pound was spent on a radiator, switchgear, engine casing, battery, removing that crap datatool noisy thing that would not shut up (no not the her indoors) bypassing the damaged ignition switch I pressed that button
Fuck me I nearly pissed my pants

Some kind guys are going to send me pictures and prices of some VERY, VERY CHEAP track fairings (their names seem to be on this forum a lot) and I will be ready for next season, already, can't wait

I know I need you lot more than you will need me and I will probably drive you mad with my stupidity

But hey hello it's me no fancy nick names just me, Neil

    Cheers and talk soon
Ps any one want a GSXR 600 K5 basic track bike with v5 ?

Hi and welcome Neil (?), fwiw I'm in exactly the same age bracket as yourself and not sure I'm an old boy yet (well I don't think so anyway!), I also completely understand where you're coming from as I also had a 955 and a K2 for the track a while back, but the 675 on a track is in a different class IMHO.

Questions are fine, I'll help anyone - especially people that help themselves, and if it means getting another 675 up and running even better!

Good luck getting your bike out on track matey and hope you enjoy being part of the forum!

I assume you are uploading pics from a pc not an IPad or mobile device? If so, using the uploader on the BB codes, choose and upload the pic then copy and paste the most appropriate code from the list into your post before you submit it.

If you're using a mobile device it's a lot easier to use the 675.cc app to upload pics.

  10. Hello everyone! New owner and rider here! Triumph daytona 675 06,what a bike! My dream machine since passing my cbt! Ha.pleased to see lots of fanatics like myself.

  11. Hi to u both if ur going on track Neil u'll need lots of crash protection that's where I'd spend my money from experience. Especially the tank ones. I had an off early on on mine and was lucky the tank didn't puncture and set fire to the bike causing a massive BBQ for everyone in my group. Always glad to help

  13. The alternator covers are quite vulnerable to I've got quite a thick carbon cover glued to mine, your tank looks very similar to the damage mine had. There's two types of tank protector short or long I guess it's personal choice but with either one I found the carbon not to be very thick/strong at all so what I did was put some liquid metal into the centre just to offer a bit more strength then glued them on while it was still going off

I'll echo Buzz's point about protection, its not inevitable that a track bike will go down but it's quite possible, my track 675 has the long carbon tank protectors with some Kevlar woven in as well and I'm considering adding some short ones to increase the protection. Look after the engine cases as well, especially the pulse timing cover - one of the bolts on that can write off an engine if its pushed inwards hard enough in a crash, or so T3 told me way back.

Looks like plenty of work to do on the bike as yet, can't really see how the intake tube and dash support bracket faired in the crash, but an ally fairing bracket is a good bet to replace that as it can be bent back into shape if the worst does happen! Good luck with the project, what's next on the list to do?

I've done a bit already, she now runs after a bit of hot wiring and removal of the alarm
yes the lefthand engine cover was split, got a scuffed one off fleabay for £8
air intake fine but clock bracket got wrecked, clocks lost all mountain points but rev counter works just the speedo side broke so that is spot on for me.
crash protection next and as you say ally bracket, just in case
Fairings are the next big thing, I need some cheap ones
Placed a request in wanted section but still not got any
next season only 4 month away
    Cheers

Have you tried going back through the for sale ads to see if there have been any Fairings up for sale that haven't sold?
