Just pottered down to Italy, rented a 950 multi and have 3 weeks on the thing to see if I want to buy one as a two up tourer. First impressions are positive. It's comfortable, with lots of power but the suspension is very soft and I'm dragging the centre stand with Jen on the back. Hmmm. Having a great time. Some excellent sights....and some odd ones. There's a guy here who has rattled canned a monster gold! Is that ever acceptable? Lol. Some lovely views here. Pleased I bought the fitted luggage for the bike as it makes packing straightforward. Really sad not to have anything in the triumph range I fancy...and not that enthused to have another bike made in Thailand. Hey ho. Heading south today.
Like you do, on a quiet Sunday when you've got nothing much else to do That looks absolutely stunning and I'm thoroughly envious of you.
Wandered around Sicily a bit. Now in Palermo. What a city. Well worth calling in if you enjoy Catholicism with side orders of street food, beer and graffiti! Fabulous . Had a great few days on the multi. My mate has managed to turn his into a multis rada with a comedy low speed drop on gravel. I've reassured him Ducati parts are virtually free . Day off the bike. Pot o clock.
Was thinking of taking the Mrs to Italy next year for our 12 year anniversary with a potential proposal too, I was looking to do it in Rome but after seeing your pictures it’s now got me thinking about changing as it looks beautiful there.
I'd recommend Sicily to anyone. It's been a blast. And...if you're looking for a project... I'd suggest it has a few of those too! Had a great time. Back in Rome and heading home in a couple of days. One last thing, if your pillion says 'Leave the Autostrada tickets to me' save yourself the €100 fine for losing it and just pop it in your own pocket. Mind, we've had a great time Might just buy a mufti 950...but it'd have to be the S model. The suspension is very ordinary two up on the cooking variant..
how's the temperature this time of year, for trawling around in bike gear? am starting to plan a euro trip for next year, and don't want to cook like the last time i was in Cannes in July felt like a boil in the bag meal
I'd definitely take my mesh AST alpinestars jacket if I had the time over. It was 36 degrees but who could predict that at this time of year! Seems to be getting cooler now. I think summer gear with a waterproof overlayed the answer. Brilliant trip. Had lots of fun.
