    Hello all,

Last summer I swapped my '05 zx6r (owned for 10 years and 50,000 miles, since new) for a white '14 675R, bought from Destination Triumph in Washington.

Extras are Arrow slip on exhaust, crash protection, LED indicators, evotech tail tidy, Telfer headstock mount for my sat nav/phone/go pro, seat cowl and an MRA screen.

On the shopping list when I save a little (incoming wedding makes this hard!) - carbon eyelids, carbon arrow exhaust shield from Carbon 4 U when it's available, and evo tech radiator guard.

I love the Daytona, was tied between that and an 899. Tough decision, I was 50/50, in the end decided on the triumph due to the handling, it's incredible. The fact it was British helped. It's blingy, but somehow in an understated way, which I love.

I live in SW London, so also invested in BIG almax chains, concrete, anchors and locks to try and make sure it stays in the garage... I also have a 125cc scooter I use every day for work and treat like crap, and occasionally ride a KTM 350 off road.

I joined the site when I bought the bike, and have been 'lurking' ever since, but thought it was time to introduce myself. Especially as already I've pilfered the site for good ideas and tips.

I use the R for occasional short trips into Surrey and Sussex, but these days that feels a little one dimensional (and the roads are SO busy), so prefer longer trips and track days. Average 3 to 4 track days a year, always use the Daytona to visit my folks in Yorkshire (the long way, via Wales...!) and try to get a Euro trip in every year, longest (on the kawasaki..) being 16 countries and 6000 miles in a month, got as far East as Serbia and Montenegro. This year the euro trip is a ferry to Spain with two others on CBR600s, and a winding route down to Lisbon and back to meet some friends for some off-roading.

Once I work out how (from my phone) I'll get the obligatory pics up...

    Ben

Welcome to our friendly little forum volant. 50k is an impressive tally, hope you manage to exceed that with your little 'tona.

  18. Welcome along & what a great intro!
    Gorgeous bike too,

  19. Great intro and choice of bike, you've made some good choices, especially the arrow and evotech.
Nice to see someone enjoying their bike without worrying about the mileage, how do find it compares against your old zx6?

Funny enough I'm more precious about putting miles on the Daytona!

I loved the Kawasaki, great bike. 636cc meant it had a bit more torque than the rest of the 600s. But the 675 is smoother and creamier, more linear too in the power delivery. And of course slightly more torque again. Probably not that much in it in straight line terms, although I prefer the power delivery of the triple. The noise is addictive too.

Handling wise, I'm no expert, I run in the middle of the inters on track days, so I don't trouble the handling on either, I'm the limiting factor. But it turns a lot quicker, feels more intuitive. Gives you more confidence on a track (although I was terrified taking it out, financially risky!) and it is certainly less 'crashy' on the potholed ropey roads.

As an ownership proposition it's just more special, I can't help but turn around and have another look... It's not even necessarily the looks, but the whole package. I (very) briefly had an 848 as well, sold when I moved abroad, and loved the sense of occasion a Ducati brings, hence looking at an 899 as well as the Daytona.

But while the 675 might not be quite so 'special' (sorry everyone, ducks...) it brings more occasion than a Jap bike, but with the BEST handling to match.
