Hang your head in shame!!!!!! Only joking mate, it's a good form of exercise I cycle..... Well I mountain cycle lol.
I never stopped. Been cycling since I was old enough to bike to school. I've never worn lycra though, LOL
Feck....I wear lycra to go out and have a beer!! Seriously, I do.....in a place where everyone is wearing either a Dodger shirt or an Angel shirt, a lycra cycling top looks a little different, and not in a bad way.....you just gotta be comfortable wearing it. D.
I have dug my old bike out of the garage as I was having a clear out, thought I'd give it a go... and it went from there. I really enjoy it but I'm not an asshole on the road
I'm going to need therapy to get the image of you holding your bumpy hips in place with elasticated fabric out of my head. Cheers Daz. Maybe next time you could do me a favourably, tone it down and admit to cross dressing instead? I have a bike. It's nice to have no licence plate for john law to trace you with sometimes.... And mine is for chucking down bumpy hills. No Lycra. Tsf
Nowt wrong with having a pedal, for one thing it hammers the quads which are the same muscles you use a lot on trackdays if you're moving around on the bike properly - that's one of the reasons why all the top racers do it. Personally I prefer being as far away from cars on a bicycle as I can get, having banged a shoulder up pretty badly a few years back getting out of the way of a truck that wanted my bit of road regardless of me; so I like the off road stuff, plenty of it round where I live as well. Nothing wrong with Lycra shorts under my regular shorts though as my beanpole legs don't favour the look but proper lycra cycle shorts work better than regular undies when riding, so if it works, great, I'm all for it. Anything that gets us out and fit is good, my personal hell is being fat and unfit at some point in my old age. DG
I've got a bike, no idea if it's any use, it was bought a few years ago and I've never, I mean never ridden it. I've moved it through 3-4 houses though. Maybe I should get it out and try it. I doubt it's even set up properly, that'll be fun to sort. I'm loving my spinning classes, and bike at the gym. Maybe I'm a cyclist!? I'll get a picture up at the weekend. Maybe I can wear my compression stuff as Lycra, yay! Steffy.
Here's the bike I have, I think it's a Mountain bike, based on the big spring shock and twin forks. Is it any good for road? Or should I Ebay it? Steffy:
It's a budget bike Steffy, if it all works ok there's no reason why you can't get out on it though. I had one very similar and did miles and miles on it. DG
One of my best mates is into gadgets and stuff. He showed me his new “toy” on Saturday - a "2 and a half grand" mountain bike with all sort of carbon bits and bobs – I bought it on one of those cycle to work schemes - it was on discount and after the saving through the scheme it cost me just over 400 quid”. 1) I cant get over how much I wanted to rob it off him and sell it for something useful And 2) If i knew i could sell it for a decent price as soon as id got it id do one of them schemes. Does anyone else do this and where do you sell them?
ffs - i didnt mean to thank my own post and i didnt mean to quote it - i was trying to edit it
About 9 years ago, I built up a downhill mountain bike from scratch....started with frame, then forks etc etc. Bad way to do it.....I stopped adding up costs when it got to £5K. But I'm an idiot
I hae just been diagnosed with obstvructive sleep apnoea and have to refrain from driving/riding for the next couple of weeks... out came the Kona Nunu asked daughter when i'd last ridden it she said she was in year4 now awaiting gcse results..... gosh it is hard work.
