Hey folks. Just bought a 2013 Gen3 675 having just sold a Gen1, and I'm replacing the stock levers with ASV... just like everyone else.

Brake went fine, but on the clutch end it feels sticky. I cleaned off all the old grease and hit everything with fresh white lithium grease while installing, but the level doesn't fully return to its original position when I let it spring back. Here's what it looks like before I pull it:

How much of an idiot am I, any idea what I might've done wrong? The clutch lever is the CRC541, as far as I know that's the correct one for this bike and the list inside the packaging confirms. The 10mm nut underneath is torqued to the spec from the installation instructions, 6.5nm.

  2. The slot for the cable doesn't look in line, did you swap over the brass bush or does it come with one?
No experience with ASV levers, just other aftermarket.
Did you set the free play?

Thanks for the reply. I think it's just the angle of the photo being from above, the slots do line up just fine horizontally. The new lever came with a bush pre-installed.

For the clutch cable I disconnected it at the clutch end so I had plenty of slack, then reinstalled both ends once the lever was in place and set the free play until it felt right.

I installed these levers on my 2013 Daytona a while ago and can't remember having any issues.

Have you tried slackening off the locknut slightly?
The instructions state 6.5Nm is the maximum not minimum torque, and that it being too tight can cause binding.

Solved! Thank you mate, this was the answer. Backed it off a little and it's now fine. Thank you.
