After 2 nights swifting the net for quickshifters, Im planning on ordering HM superlite one for the trumpet? Anyone used Hm superlite's in the past? Good value for money, reliable etc ? Bikes used on road and not raced, so thinking this would suit me.
I fitted one to my 2007 Daytona a few months back. It works great,it piggybacks on the coil packs. You can set the sensitivity using a light on the shifter. Turned it into a different bike
Can I just steer you clear of the superlite. I fitted one on my Daytona 06, worked flawlessly for 3 months. Did a track day and the sensor failed. HM wouldn’t fix under warranty. Try saving up for a HM plus model ( red in colour ) or a Translogic or maybe even a Healtec
Thanks for the advice lad, ive seen the HM plus, might go for that one then if its worth the extra money? I do plan on doing a track day as soon as i can!! Wouldnt want to have any issues like. I got a quote today for a translogic which came to £450
Yeah, im looking at them now. Think im definatley set on getting the plus. £350 off HM site with rod. Thats a done deal for me!! Better got get the standard size rod measured up lol!! Cant imagine itll be any different setting up the HM PLUS on my 2008 to your 2006
All things have the potential to break but I know lots of people who run the superlite shifter on road and track without any issues, I wouldn't waste my money on the more expensive version if it's primarily being used on the road. I'll be fitting one to my track bike conversion before my return to the track this year without a second thought.
A mate of mine runs his own motorcycle repair business 75% race/trackbike he says to stay clear of hm quick shifters. Most gearboxes he repairs have a hm fitted his preferred choice is Cordona has told me to get this on my trackbike and remove the HM.
I had a few on my previous bike, Dynojet - very basic (it's essentially a microswitch) but easy to fit to the existing power commander. HM PC - again, bought for convenience as it connected directly to the power commander but was an upgrade because it was strain gauge type so could be adjusted for sensitivity. Translogic stand alone - different league entirely. More expensive than the HM but connected to the coils so cut ignition rather than fuel. The other advantage is that it'll continue to operate if the power commander goes tits up. If the one fitted to the Daytona wasn't a Translogic I would probably go out and buy one.
I know it's the wrong year but I have the triumph translogic one on my 11, no issues with it other than the shift rod breaking when I fitted my rearsets. If they do a kit for the earlier models could be worth a look? Considering mine was £250 from a dealer fitted
It's a 6mm thread on a bar made of cheese so when it wasn't a dead straight line the stress snapped it
