Just thought I should throw a quick 'Hello' around before I start posting - I uploaded a video of me crashing onto YouTube and someone sent me a PM saying I should join this board - I had actually been a member before posting it but I just lurked so I thought it's time I come out of the woodwork.

I also post on somethingawful.com in the Army subsection and in the Cycle Asylum subsection about the two things I care about - shooting stuff and driving fast, but as it's an American Forum and not specific to my motorbike - a 09 675 I think I'm going to enjoy it more here. I'm quite squiddy in my approach to speed and manoeuvering but I don't fill in 'Underdressed' part of 'Stupidly Quick, Underdressed, Imminently Dead' as I'm a bit of a kit beast. Ive recently got a Canadian company to manufacture some titanium plates from a design I sent them to fit on the bottom of my Alpinestars so that they'll spark manically when I drag them on the street.

So anyway, yep, crashed it. I'm particulary ashamed of the video as I crash in a straight line, in such an amateur way. People are going to ask for it anyway so here it is:

Ive set aside £2500 for repairs, and would GREATLY appreciate everyones suggestions on what else to do.

So far I've bought this exhaust, but in Chobalt Black:

I've also bought a rear-light that has the indicators and brake light built-in like TonyB - I think I even got it from the same German company on eBay.

Im going to get a quickshifter on it and a double bubble screen.

I'm also going to get one of these: http://www.british-customs.com/british-customs-daytona-675-fender-eliminator-plate.html

so that the numberplate sits right in the recess like this:

    Probably not road-legal.

So that's me, thats what I hope to do and I hope these forums are ok with a sightly reckless squiddy but decent bloke!

Edit: Just thought I should mention that it was someone called bpsDave who said I should join up, thanks man - really good bloke.

Oh and someone posted about those spikes you could get for the screen and how they were just 'eBay cheapies' as soon as I saw that photo of your yellow triumph with them on I went to eBay and bought a set!

Welcome along dude, I hope you enjoy the forum.

Sorry I've got to ask, ??? Had you maybe gone to sleep from droning along the boring long straight, and didn't wake up until you high-fived the grass, or did I miss something dude?

Anyway, you've found the right forum now. But you better be well prep'd for the banter, best come well equipped for some of it!

  4. Unfortunate spill man but at least you got up and walked away with nothing more than what looks like scratched hands. It's so sad seeing a bike on its side. Good luck with the repairs and I'm sure you'll get it looking even better.
    Welcome.

    Hey mate, welcome. :D

Love the comp wereks exhaust, I like that fender ele kit too (re-writes list to Santa ;) )

Goodluck fixing her up, looking forward to seeing the new goodies. :)

  6. Welcome Plastercast (obviously a hidden meaning there?!).

Thanks for the vid - it's actually an eye-opener as to how quickly an accident can occur

  7. Hey Dude how do!

Mate I feel your pain but I loved the instant response in the video after the crash a very English way of dealing with disaster "Cor F*cking Hell"

Nice exhaust dude worth checking out the Two Brothers Exhausts as they come with the fender eliminator you are looking for. Word to the wise though I had one on mine and the Bacon didn't take kindly to it in fact they stopped me twice one gave me a fix and correct order the other a £30 fine. But it is your bike and your choice my friend but enjoy her mate and safe riding.

Oh and make sure to get yo ass to the fest next year in the spring :D

Sorry mate.! It says "Infantry Officer, Captain"
  Very "intuitative" of you ;)

  15. could just tell by the dmp bag and the posh accent. I'd say he's prob a guards officer then if he's infantry.

Was tied between guards or cav officer but if he's infantry he's gotta be guards

We've got another "Captain" on here mate, "Captain Steffydog" (Although IR he's probably equivalent to LtCol in Forum terms).
BTW, What's the squiddy reference? I just ask 'cos it happens that his Avatar is...

  18. Roger Moore getting bummed?
