Hi, I've come back to riding after a few years (decades) away from it and I've got a 2007 Daytona. I found one with just over 14,000km on the clock, cared for in original stock condition - it had a tank protector and someone butchered the number plate holder to shorten it - other than that, it was pretty much the way it was delivered. I've done about 4000km on it so far and I'm loving it
Welcome in. Great choice of colour and great part of the world you're from. Always nice to see new members. I'm heading to Sydney in November...and borrowing a Ducati 959 to potter about on. I'm told the law enforcement is.... enthusiastic...so plenty dollars needed I guess! Hope she brings you great joy.
Sounds like a great time The cops can be keen, but the real problem is we've got more safety laws than we can keep track of - there are some days I'm surprised were allowed to have motorcycles at all...
ANother welcome mate and the 675 is a superb bike, it really is. What other bikes have you had as its always good to hear?
Welcome to our friendly little forum Jedburgh, lovely sounding find you've got yourself there Can't blame them really, the OE one is pretty awful imho. Evotech make a tidy alloy replacement, which looks "right" when fitted & likely to fool the compliance fascists.
Before the Daytona I had a KTM rc390, which was a surprisingly capable bike for what it was. Before that you have to go back a few years, and I had a few unmemorable Japanese bikes, and I started on a '68 Suzuki Hustler.
Thanks I'll check it out. I'd like to keep it mostly stock, but I've changed the front indicators - you can see one in the photo - taken off the rear pegs, and made some blanking covers for them.
Edit... And I threw on some bobbins so I can put it on a stand, and wired an accessory plug under the seat. That's all I promise... Just looked at the photo and thought about it again ;-)
Found a much nicer looking number plate holder from a company called melotti. Looks way better than the evotech one and I've had both.
Thanks guys, there's some good options there. I'm still a way away from getting around to the tail, but I'll post some pictures of what I do when it happens
