Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

comparison between 848 and 675r...... Chalk and cheese springs to mind!
My opinion of the 848 is that it was the best bike i ve owned and the worst, you could ride it one day very fast with out even thinking about it or breaking a sweat and just fall head over heels in love with it. Get on it the next day and it would feel awful, not hold a line and just be a complete pig, I can only put it down to my in-puts and soon realised that if you weren,t completely relaxed on the bike it just wouldn,t work. The 848 engine was a peach though with plenty of grunt, although I recon that the ohlins in the 675r far outweighs any deficit power.
In summary my 848 was good sometimes but not enough of the time(hope that makes sense) its still early days yet but so far the 675r has been much easier to get on and have fun without having to wonder weather you are in the right frame of mind to make it work on that day.

Good to see a few of you are fairly local to me so will hopefuly bump into you out and about when the sun decides to shine again.

  7. I've been looking at 848's again. The problem with Ducati's was that I remember my old 748. Some days it was incredible, other days it was just horrid and I just never quite got there with it! Plus they are such a lot of money! £11000 for a new Evo

    I knew I'd get tod off.lol

  16. Yep, we have lots here, all good :) I still haven't seen one in the flesh although there is one going around the Newbury area as my friend texted me and said 'Have you seen that new Dark 675R'... I'll find the bloke and get him on here (if he isn't already?)

Yep, sounds like the Ducati sportbikes still have the same DNA as my 748, they work when the planets align! in my case I ended up going for an ultra revvy ZX6, then a 'Boring' CBR600RR before finding the perfect compromise with my bike.
