I'm new to this forum and new to the world of motorcycling. At the ripe old age of 37 I decided to scratch an itch that had been troubling me since my teens so I did a DAS course and last month bought my first bike an '06 Daytona 675. As a new rider I've been taking it nice and steady riding with my brother-in-law who is an experienced rider and my sister who is learning on a 125 and just getting out and putting some miles on the clock. Please don't assume by my nickname I'm reckless speed nut, its just a nickname I've used on the internet for many years having picked it up working on a building site. Anyway thats enough about me, I'm off to pick up some tips from the forums!
Welcome, and thanks for joining up....don't be shy about asking quezzies or joining in the banter, mate.
Thanks, what a great welcome! I think this is going to be an itch thats going to need regular scratching I used to live in Cardiff but now live just outside in a place called Barry so have some great roads to ride along the coast. Its a hell of a jump from the GS 500 I learnt on but I'm really enjoying it and slowly building confidence following friends who are more experienced riders and understanding I can lean more than 1 degree I've already found some good tips here for new riders which was why I decided to sign up. I'm a complete newbie but keen to learn. I found this bike purely by accident doign a search, I had a Daytoona in Warickshire bookmarked and a GSXR 600 in Cardiff I was looking at then this Daytona popped up at the last minute. Yellow wasn't my first choice as I'm quite conservative with colours for clothing but I grew on me and I just had to have it. '06 plate with just under 2400 miles on the clock as it had been SORN'd for a while.
