Hello fella, I'm new too so trying to say hi to as many people as possible!!

Wow amazing bike...the dealership in Winnersh, Berkshire had a Dark, the paint work was incredible they actually etched it into the metal work and you can see how they have stripped down the paint looks wkd.

We should try making a meet down The Ace and get as many people up for it from the forum and enjoy a nice ride :)

    Cheers everyone,

Well I've had quite a nice welcome so far, with Lucky 13 I've even managed to meet a couple of others for a ride out P-trax and Blaster. Also unwittingly briefly met fkkrs just outside Henley. Well I say meet, more he whizzed past us.

I did the Brighton Burn Up and the Triumph Birthday meet at Mallory Park. All in all not a bad 6weeks on a bike, I just try and keep up with Lucky 13. She has to keep up with me if she wants to know where she's going though ;) Ive even had 2 bikes in that time. Well I think I have to concentrate on the motorbiking skills now. Don't want to be part of the statistics - new bloke with sports bike -injured/dies. I've clocked up just short or a 1000 miles in a week. I think this is going to calm down now, life, work and weather will get worse.

I think someone mentioned meeting up at the Ace Cafe - Triple Dan, perhaps? Yep I'd be up for that.

Yep...Para Regt. Guess what's going on my cowl when i buy it and send it to 8ball.

1k inside a week....you crazy the amount of fuel it gobbled up already!! Sports bikes are generally one of those types that gets looked at and you wait till that perfect day then you use it just to enjoy then it rains!! Lol! Thats impressive tho. Must of traveled the country by now!

Well I was trying to get a feel of my new bike, I've only had my licence for 6 or so weeks. I had a speed triple (still sad about selling it) for a month. I've never ridden a sports bike. I was lucky enough to have a spell of reasonable weather and a few early afternoon finishes and weekends.

If you read another thread of mine. I'm now looking for beaten up old bike to cut about on and do trips into London. Yes with the weather turning....I want to conserve my new bike.

Bikes are for riding in all weathers and when you get the chance not just for sunny days (although they are the best time to ride them ;)) riding in different conditions makes you a better rider I reckon.

In this country if you wait for perfect days, there is no point in having a bike, we don't get enough of them
Next time you guys are out we will have to meet for cuppa.

Don't worry fkkr1s, I more than intend to ride in the winter (ice/snow might be a bit too sporting for me though ;). I meant that I don't want to run up 52K miles on my dark in a year. I just want something cheap as chips that I won't worry too much about bashing, or being stolen. I only found out from Lucky 13 that you can whizz about London and park up for free and use bus lanes, etc. I'm on the fringes of London. Bugger taking my Dark in too often.

Yes, certainly will have to meet up for a hot brew. Are you around the Henley area? I'm Beaconsfield. Also, though this maybe a little bit far seeing where i saw you - I do the Ace sometimes too.

Rossgo, yeah it was a bit of a leap from 500cc to Speed Triple then to Daytona. I had 30 mins to decide whether to buy the dark. I actually like the riding position of the street triple and speed triple. I'm 6'2" and just shy of 16st , I needed to break myself into the dark's position. Strangely and seemingly contrary to all the others' opinions, I think the seat is fine and I've done a smidgen under a 1000 mile on it. Maybe my arse padding? My Harley owning, ex sportsbiker mate (2 crashes - 1x real nasty one) he's managed to convince his wife to let aim to buy a street triple when he sells his Harley. I'll tell him about this forum.

I do agree BTW riding in all weather's is always good as it makes the rider a better rider all I mean is the dark is somthing a bit special it's not like it's somthing you can 'pick up' for the first time anywhere....as soon as they been sold once they are second hand and no point having a special limited ( very limited) edition thats got high mileage on and stone chips everywhere etc!! Lol!! Ive only got the Daytona for all weather's and tyres so I can do that lol!! But if it breaks down and gets beaten up then I can always pick up another....not that I can afford it mind just saying in general Daytona you can pick up a new one inside a week lol!! Just thought I'd say me point as im not just a fair weather rider that doesn't no what it's like to ride in the heavy rain etc!! Wow your a tall fella but the Daytona is quiet nice position to ride in I dont see any problem with it....although I'm very short so it might help lol!!

I ride in winter. Everyone thinks it must snow a lot here (north Shropshire, 7 miles from Wales) but it doesn't, it just gets insanely cold, much colder than dahhn sahrrfff - we usually have loads of ice and the Council can't afford to grit country roads so the bike sits in the shed quite a bit.

What a beautiful bike. Welcome to the site mate :D

    Cheers,

I've now seen our roads in a whole different light since becoming a biker. I'll ride in winter but I now realise many of our roads are very poo aren't they. Thanks for the nice words about my bike. Yep, I think it's very beautiful too. The Union Flag on the tank is my favourite bit, clever how it's sort of etched into it.

  15. Alright matey,

Had the time of my life on the bike last week. As soon as you're back in, let's go out and get a ride cracked.

Wrestling on Friday? Mexican not 'arm'! Too soon?

    Gluck ab!

9:32 this slight has not gone un-noticed! Iraq, Afghanistan, M25...one bout of Mexican wrestling with large breasted lucky 13 and that's your priority!

Teasing, welcome to the forum, and the wonderful world of 675. It's mega! Lucky 13 is up for taking you out for an hour, if I'm free and able ill be coming too.

    I was right wasn't I, erection and a smile.....about the Daytona....!

Oh and post your own thread in the introductions. Though I recommend you explaining the fullspeed name tag. You know what lucky 13 and I think about the forums. Youll meet some great people here. Let's get out soon.

  19. Cheers St Marks. No, I've got a Hornet at the minute but I rode a 675 on Saturday and I want one - now! Lucky13 and 23/30 are squaring me away to the max so I'm going to hotfoot it down Jack Lilleys on Saturday and do the right thing!

Simmo: Yes, you were...When I heard you'd spanked in, I wasn't even going to bother. The chick in the shop was like, "you're here now so you might as well go out for 10 mins"...I thought fine, I'll just take it easy. Obviously, I didn't take it easy. I came back grinning ear to ear - so there decision was made there and then. Shame the gash weather's coming in - should be some time to get a few rides in though. Reference wrestling - it was the "Psycho Schoolgirl" that did it...trust me...

 If you are thinking of trading up to a 675, there are some excellent bikes in our "For Sale" section. They are offered by forum members who have truly loved & cherished them ready for you, & you can trace their provenance from the owners posts on here.
Far better than some anonymous offering from a Stealer IMO, and may well save you a few bob too.!

 Sorry about the thread hijack 23/30
