How do everyone Well after my mate badgered me for 3 years to get into bikes (sadly he's got a Harley now, I'm working on him to get a Speed Triple). I finally passed my test a month ago. The reason I got into them and pretty much the main reason was that I wanted to ride something British (preferably with the Union Jack on it), fast, cool that looks good and lets Porsche / BMW / Range Rover drivers watch my arse disappear into the distance on something that costs a fraction of their car. I was never into bikes at all. However, since passing, my first bike was a Speed Triple 955i red (I'm still a bit sad about selling this). I managed to ride my GF's 'dark' on a trip back from the north. Never ridden a sports bike before. What a bike! I had 30 mins to decide whether to buy the last 675r 'dark' for sale from a dealer. Of course I did! It fits my criteria perfectly. Just need to learn how to get the most out of it on my limited experience and skill, without killing myself. I'm in the Bucks/Herts area so you might see me whizzing around about that area.
Welcome to the site, congrats on the 675R dark. The Daytona rides really well and will put the Porsche drivers in the distance for sure. Looking forward to the pics! (Can't be many more 675R darks left for sale at the moment)
Cheers for the welcome. I see the blue sky between the clouds might be able to get an hour in. I'm still running the engine in.
I'm not really sure how to upload a photo https://www.675.cc/upload/images/photo1pgp.jpg can anyone see it?
Welcome to the forum 23/30dark, I hope you'll apreciate the helpful advice & enjoy the friendly banter. Regarding your running in, I believe you should have a read of this thread mate: https://www.675.cc/675/viewtopic.php?p=169311#p169311 Someone else was struggling with this the other day, here's what I suggested:
Welcome to the forum dude! Hmmm I wonder if all 30 Dark owners will join up eventually on here they seem to be growing in numbers, I know we have number 1 and number 30 at least lol
Hey up pal, welome aboard The dark is a stunning looking bike especially as it hints at the fastest colour -RED- with all those highlights and the rear subframe LOL! Joking apart fella enjoy the bike and the banter on here!!!
Yeah - if that gets stolen, please dont hang out around the forum any more as I'd feel really bad if you saw that I'd suddenly "bought one" only to remind you of your pain I'm from Watford and often ride around Hemel area too so might spot you around - Scorched yellow beauty myself
Welcome in new bloke, nice bike mate. Stay away from Nila, he'll get you in trouble. Sent from my BlackBerry 9300 using Tapatalk
Yes I like the allyness of my 'dark'! I count no: 1,30, myself and 13 as dark owners. I'm pretty sure there was another newbie that was getting a dark as well on here. I wonder what the number will be....it's like the lottery. Shame I missed the Brit Bike night last night at the Ace Cafe. Someone I work with was there with his BMW thing (i'm working on him about the Triumph angle), he said it was a pretty good turn out. Unfortunately I had to pick up no.13 from the Airport. She doesn't do pillion!
