My only dislike, the tank stickers. Far to much going on, hopefully will come off without damaging paint. Will search for some much more discreet.

  2. They'll come off using gentle heat from a heat gun and some patience

Hair dryer with the fuel cap open :)

  4. It's probably not needed mate, the heat shouldn't get to that point and the tank is vented. Personally I would want to leave the fuel tank closed incase there was a splash as you are wobbling the bike around trying to peal it off.

  5. Nice buy bud, plus salesman was talking rubbish. Won't get that much. Salesman often say bikes that haven't sold that well will pick up in price as few are sold, thus rare. But guess ppl still don't wanna buy them in the future so it might be rare but ppl still don't want them. Just enjoy ur bike.

The tank stickers peeled off by hand, then cleaned glue residue with wd40.

  7. Bikes looking great, glad you got rid of the tank pad:puke1:
If you want to lose the snow shovel off the back have a look at Evotech tail tidys, quality bit of kit.
When you get more used to the performance and want a little boost check out the 1050 throttle mod, unless you have one already.
If you're not taking passengers then removing the pillion pegs is easy and cleans up the back end, just remove the seat and unbolt them.
Glad you're enjoying it so far

i would just like to say thanks to all the people who took the time to share their advice with me in making a decision on what bike to buy. invaluable advice and a credit to this forum.
Covered more miles today and just absolutely love it. i keep making excuses to go places or get stuff out of the garage!

I think i will do the tail tidy, is there much difference in the rg and evotech?

Personally a complete difference in quality you get what you pay for with the Evo-tech it's a quality well engineered bit of kit

    Second this
Have Evo tech on my 13- black and a cheap after market eBay job on the 13- red I bought off a lad on here.
No comparison would go with evotech every time

  11. Another vote for Evotech - great kit, worth the extra coin.

I have the R&G as it came on my bike - some paint has flaked off, otherwise it is a quality well engineered bit of kit (secure mounting point for all my luggage)

Maybe a silly question, but why are the factory tails so big and ugly?

Legally manufacturers have enforced limits on distances the rear plate must be past the bike

Hence why it sticks out over the rear tyre
Also why triumph sell a tail tidy but not for road use as that would be breaching laws

Lol++++ as if the f distance of the plate from the bike is going to be the major issue when you've been stopped by el fuzz!!! Ha ha ha nice one.

Ok, be careful is selling your bike via gumtree, I had someone who said they they wanted to buy my bike without viewing it then attempting a scam trying to pay via PayPal.
