Welcome in! good choice of bike to get and think for £5k you should be able to get quite a decent bike with a few toys on it (eg arrow/quickshifter/cowl/gel seat).

The biggie to be aware of is the 12,000 mile service, is usually upwards of £400, so a bike with it is worth having, should they be around that mark.

Winter is a buyers market - good luck with the hunt and enjoy looking!

Welcome in. Enjoy the site but mainly enjoy the bike. Great choice, I had a 09 Tona and absolutely fell in love with it, I have no doubt that you will as well

I think everyone on this site will try to get you to believe that red is also the fastest colour, well don't believe them up know you want black!

Would you guys and girls be put off by a bike with quickshift and exhaust system? It kinda puts me off but would save me money as they are mods i would be looking into doing.

  17. Not at all as it will save you quite a lot of money, I love buying bikes that have lots of mods by the previous owner as it saves all the hassle / setting up..

Thanks for the reply. I get the impression the bike has been used properly but as a buyer it puts me off..maybe I'm being abit to cautious.

If it's not too far - go and have a look. If you are really keen, but have a doubt, take some funds/do your hpi checks etc and your gear so you can do a test ride - you don't have to buy it and can walk away if it doesn't feel right to you. Talking to sellers also helps put my mind at ease once I find out they are at least as bike mad as me...

  20. Don't forget that many owners pimp their bike with lots of trick parts and their bikes never see the track...
