I've recently bought a Hyperpro CSC damper which mounts in the standard position and was wondering if I could use a paddock stand which lifts the front underneath the headstock? Never used one before as I've only ever had one that lifts under the fork bottoms but I need to swap the forks over the winter so thought I'd ask the obvious question. :)

    Thanks in advance.

Will it work with a damper mounted underneath the headstock though? :?:

If the steering damper covers the hole on the yoke it will not work

    I know that matey, I’m not a complete spacker ! :D

Maybe I should’ve asked ‘does a damper mounted down there cover the hole in the headstock?’ :p

I used a headstock stand on mine before I changed from the OEM to a Hyperpro mounted "916 style"
As yours is using the original mounts I can't see why it wouldn't be fine unless the adjuster boss was positioned to be in the way.
Do you have a headstock stand yet Kirklet.?

Slightly off topic, the Gee-tech ones, I can find pictures of them and they do look excellent quality but i can't find where you'd buy them from or prices??

No mate, no yet. I was sat at work looking for one earlier on eBay when it occurred to me that it might not work given that the new Hyperpro damper retains the position of the original one. I’ve not really looked at the new damper’s mounting brackets to see if it will present a problem. Hence why I threw it out there to you guys.

ive got both Harris under yoke and under fork button stands. got rid of the standard damper so canny answer your question, but what I do find is that the under yoke stand will not fit with my track fairings, so have to use under fork when on track. however once fairings are off I think the under yolk is the better stand.

If it helps you could borrow my headstock stand to check out the situation on your bike before you buy a stand you can't use.

  11. I have a sprint damper mounted in the original position (under yoke) and use a stand under the yoke with no problem

Might well take you up on that offer, I’ve not actually started work on my bike yet but I do have to swap my forks over soon enough.

  13. Scott I've a Harris and Constand bottom yoke paddock stand available for you to try if you want to borrow them at some point.
Give me a shout. I'm up at home just now but will be back on base from tuesday. Sure we can meet halfway or something if you want.

Dunno what the mounts look like on the hyperpro but this is what the standard looks like at full lock and plenty of space for my valtermoto headstock stand to get in [IMG]

  18. Old thread I know but I use a front track stand under the yoke and I’m considering a hyperpro damper to replace my stock one in that position. Did anyone confirm there is clearance with the hyperpro? The mount does look like it might interfere since it clamps around the cylinder of the hyperpro vs the more streamlined integrated mounting boss on the stock damper. Thanks in advance.

Hello mate, I can confirm that you’ll most likely need a fork bottom stand if you’re using a Hyperpro damper. I certainly have to take the damper off if I need to get the under-yoke stand in there if I’m taking the forks out for any reason.
They’re great dampers though, very good quality.
