I put my brave-pants on and took the Daytona out for the first time this year! Er, actually, thinking about it, it's the first time I've ridden since, ummm, October, possibly? It was like being a learner all over again and I literally felt sick with adrenaline anxiety before setting out. I was only out for an hour or so before things were starting to get numb and I felt like I was drowning in my own snot. But it was grand! Nothing shows off a grubby 'bike to its best like a photo from a sh*t strewn layby:
Well I've just got home from work, and now I'm at my laptop catching up with some upcoming legislation I need to read up on. So, of course I wasn't even slightly distracted by the MCN email about being entered in a free draw to win a new bike if I ran an insurance quote through them. So I don't know that Bennetts offer Fully Comp' for £107.94 (that's only slightly less than the VED) And seeing your beautiful Caspian jewel, and reading your thread, will have had no encouraging effect whatsoever Janey. And it's been a glorious sunny day "oop eere in't Yorkshire", yet I commuted in my cage thinking how much happier I may have been getting chilblains in my fingers. Hmmm...
I did dare to go out on the bike this morning - a 3 hour round trip with an hour at the beach. Was cold but manageable and when walking on the prom at Brid, the sun beating down was very pleasurable
Was out in the car for an owners meet up, but there were lots of bikes braving the cold at Gasoline Juice and Industry&Supply where we met up at in Weedon Bec.
You've beat me to the first ride this year, they were gritting only a few days ago so hoping for some rain to clean the roads and temperatures to creep up a bit, but will definitely tax the Thruxton this month and hopefully be out shortly, I usually leave the 675R for another month.

I got out on Sunday after seeing so many bikes out whilst cycling on Saturday lunchtime Did 120mi - Penyfan & across to Llandovery with some randoms, one on a new R1 & one a ‘09 R6 - my heated grips, bade layers, gore tex gloves & textiles were all on - not brave enough for perforated leathers yet un Tons of bikes out Get out around midday, don’t get a flat battery during storage, stick to the main roads to avoid the worst of the muck on the surface & get home before the temperature/sun drops again at 4pm.
First ride of the year today, was in two minds because of the amount of salt still on the roads but the weather was too nice, bike was perfect after its winter hibernation although I'd expect nothing less. Downside was the sun also brought out the inevitable scamera vans, went past two in the space on 1/2 mile in Preston, one in a new place I'd never noticed before, clocking people on the approach to a 50mph fixed camera, touch wood got away with both. Daytona 675R won't be out until April.
