The bike has been over to P3 tuning in Liverpool for dyno & mapping. They could get more power if I had an alternative exhaust to the Coffman shorty. Has anyone got results of their runs? Good improvements from pre and post tune in my opinion, more so for the longevity of the engine.
Surprised it was running so rich before the tune, was that on the standard map or Arrow map? Did they fit a power commander or have they loaded the offsets into tune ECU? I had my Thruxton R on their dyno for a power run but they wanted £600 to £700 and a full day for a custom tune ECU remap which is out of my price range at the moment, beside the fact I'm happy with my map as it is. I was thinking about taking the Daytona down there though for a AFR run, keep hearing the arrow map leaves a lot to be desired.
Hi there @wobblybiker99 I fitted the end can and air filter and took it up to them. The engine management light was also on. They gave it a run and then fitted a power commander 5 (used) and ignition control unit (new) that I supplied. They said that the map sensor was also unplugged?? They also reset the EML and cleared the fault codes. On riding home I ‘opened it up a little’ and the EML came back on. I called Paul and took it straight back, he plugged it in and diagnosed my servo delete module (Dynojet) as faulty. I unplugged it at home and gave it a spray n worked the connection in/out a few times. Went for a ride and it extinguished itself. They did say fitting my Scorpion can would give better gains, as would a decat. I am no racer so not wanting ultimate power, I just wanted the engine fuelling right. it is riding a lot smoother, as for more power????? I am unsure as I haven’t ridden it for quite a while or consistently to make an informed decision. Next up is the 1050 throttle mod.
