So you all know the story by now this was won at the TT last year. I really don't want to break it and would rather someone enjoyed it how it should be enjoyed. Built by T3 racing and has 2 top ten finishes at the TT under Gary Johnson who signed the bike after the race so after around 12k some for me and some for a military charity. No silly offers and spread the word please!
I'll start with a offer of £1050 thats 20 times what you paid for it plus your initial outlay back Steve
I'll give you £1050, plus my wife*. (I've shared on my FB) *It should be noted that she generally costs more to keep for the year than she earns but does come with £1000s worth of handbags and shoes.
GB Racing Engine protection Lightech levers/brake guard/rearsets Scorpion exhaust system HEL brakelines and EBC pads Raceshift quickshifter Fully machined engine cams/pistons etc Steering damper Racing air ram Blown fuel tank and racing fuel cap AIM tft screen and electronics AIM GPS K-Tech suspension This is what I was told by the team and I have probably forgotten some bits!
you got it for next to nowt - why not keep it ?? it has a great history and will be very hard to replace or get back once gone ... I once had a V&M TT R1 .... sold it when I broke my leg & couldn't ride - worth a mall fortune that is now. :-( Keep it and ride it ! thats why you bought a ticket isn't it ?
Well I entered for a laugh never thinking I would win! I also won a helmet which I'm keeping but I don't have the time to keep and ride the bike. If it was road legal I would 100% keep it. Mostly I want it to go to someone who will use it as intended!
can you buy me a lottery ticket please ?!!!!!!! I would most certainly use it for you if you don't have the time, I'd even keep it in my garage too if that helps glws anyway mate, I won't be bike shopping for a while due to property purchase :-(
I know what you mean as I enter bike related raffles just for the just of to put some funds towards a racer. To be fair, this bike has been plastered on quite a few bike / auction sites but its not going for the big bucks that you want or think it's worth. It's never going to recoup the money that was put into it as that's the truth of building racing machines. It cost you a price of a pint or two, drop your price and get a few grand in your pocket and they bike will be used for it was built for. (Do a full circle and raffle it yourself)
+1 on the above - although if I ever got lucky on something like this, then I hope I'd keep the race bike. I would probably convert it back to road trim as my do-all bike and use it as "something a bit special" to surprise litre bikes. I'd sell my existing road bike to put some notes in the bank/do the holiday/extension etc. At the same time I don't blame you for selling if you don't think you'll use it - if this was Guy Martins bike you'd probably get the cash asked for, but as much as it'd irk him, Gary Johnson isn't a Guy Martin or a Rossi etc, so can't see it being GJ's bike adding that much of a premium on UK bike forums - have you tried chasing the cash? Thinking Macau/Dubai sites or even the "posh" bike auctions may be worth a go? (Just seen the sold post - good stuff!)
