Hello! I'm currently living in Thailand, in the Bangkok city. It's extremely hot here, and the traffic congestion is really intense. (If you've ever visited Thailand, you'd probably understand what I mean.)

I have 2016 Triumph Street Triple 675R, and I’ve been facing a problem: the engine heat during daytime riding really takes away the fun of the ride.

I’ve been trying to find ways to reduce the heat beyond just using high-quality coolant, and I’m wondering — is it possible to install a cooling radiator and fan assembly from a 2013 Daytona 675 onto my Street Triple?
    Has anyone already done this?

Sorry if my English isn't perfect.

Welcome to our friendly little forum Jamorn.
I personally have never visited Thailand (although I would dearly love to do so). However I can well understand how the heat there may cause an issue, as even in our own "temperate" part of the world it can be problematic on the few warm days we experience.

Fwiw I've not heard of anyone trying the conversion you propose.
Oil coolers & oil cooling radiators (located in the V section under the coolant radiator) have been used by some. Replacing the water based coolant with "Water Wetter" (or equivalent) has been a popular approach too.
Others on here may have some pertinent suggestions, let's see....

Thank you for reply :) Oil coolers & oil cooling radiators is very interesting.
But it is very expensive for a new product and I think the price is higher than a used Daytona radiator.

  4. You could hollow out the thermostat. I can't imagine it takes much time in Thailand for the bike to come up to temp, so that's not an issue.

    Hi Jamorn,
I stayed close to the central city shopping mall on the Bang na trad road for 9 months when I was working in Bangkok 30 years ago and I can still remember the heat and the traffic. And the great people and food.
I use Motul mo cool additive in my cool system,it says on the bottle that lowers the coolant temperature.I also have an extra triangle shaped radiator below the standard one which gives 30% extra cooling, with this I never have temperature problems. These are around €500 so not cheap but better and cheaper than engine damage due to heat.

Thank you for reply , I will try to consult with a technician to remove the thermostat as you suggested. :)

If you want to come back to Thailand again, we Thais welcome tourists. I don't know when was the last time you visited Thailand. It has changed a lot from 30 years ago, but the heat, the traffic (more), the people and the delicious food are still the same as in the past.

Now my bike has Motul Mo Cool as well, but I think it is not cool enough.
The extra triangle shaped radiator is very interesting. I saw it on the internet, but I found it very expensive. €500 is a very high amount for Thais (almost my whole month's salary) + shipping and tax. I will have to save up for a year to buy it. I will think about it. Thank you very much for your reply.:)

  8. Would lowering the fan switch on temperature setting down from the stock 103c give any benefit?
    Can do this with Tuneecu.
