I did the 2014 slipper clutch swap to my 08 and now I cant't get the clutch cover back and on it's driving me crazy.

I'm trying to get the release assembly and and pull rod to mate when I put the clutch cover on but it's not working. I think it get it on correctly but something must be wrong here. When I rotate the rod I don't feel the clutch pulling in and out. Release arm rotates certain amount and then it just stops when I think that the two parts hook UP correctly, but the clutch handle doesn't have any resistance it is just loose.

I didin't take photo of the release arm before taking it apart, but I just feel that is goes too far away.

I'm trying to put it together like so:
Release arm left side and when the clutch cover is on place or nearly on place then I rotate the release arm to right and I can clearly feel when it stops and hooks to the puller, but it just doesn't work right. When the clutch cover Isin't placed right the release arm stays bit more back, but when the cover goes on place then the release arm goes (I think) too far to the right side when it should point directly to engine.

And about the 2014 clutch. Does these photos seem right? Does it really have that empty space between the friction plate and the pressure plate + the last steel plate and friction plate doesn't sit on the inner drum?
(There is also photo of the old clutch and there is no similar gap).

Release arm goes aprx. at this point when the clutch cover is placed right on and at this point it will get stuck and hooks to the puller.

  3. Are you putting the clutch top plate and the arm on at the same time
Or putting the arm on after

  4. Think about how stuff works and go from there

Looks to me going off the pics that the outer biggest inner diameter steel hasn’t lined up with the splines hence the gap, try fitting that and the two outer most friction plates to the clutch pressure plate first, then as a unit slide and turn into the basket

  6. Have you changed the main basket or just the plate pack?

I believe the gen 1's are same as gen 2, if so you should only need to change the plate pack.

There should be an anti-rattle spring at the back of the plates, it's a concave ring, and a washer that goes at the back in the middle (I think).
