The M1 motorway has been closed North all afternoon between 42 and 44. This is one of the busiest motorway intersections in the UK carrying tens of thousands of traffic movements per hour and the wankers have closed it all afternoon and through rush hour on a Friday with no likelihood of it opening anytime soon. The M1 is gridlocked North and South, the M62 is gridlocked East and West, every town and city within a 20 mile radius is gridlocked. OK, so I get some poor sod had died - but get some photo's, scrape up the carnage, shove it on the hard shoulder out the way and open up the road quickly like they do in Europe and America where traffic flow is the priority They never used to close 'em, now they bleat health and safety which is fair enough, but if they got a shift on it would not be so bad. There must be hundreds of thousands of quids worth of costs to business caused by the delays. Maybe if they charged the old bill a hundred grand an hour to close the roads, like they charge railtrack when rail lines are out of action, they would get their arses in gear and sort it a bit quicker. Aaaaaaagh.
must be why my favourite road was gridlocked leading up to it isnt there a football game at wembley tonight too? dont fancy that much
Have a heart, its a long run from the accident to the nearest donut shop, it takes time to keep going to and fro and sometimes the coffee's not hot when they get back too. P.S. Football - zzzzzzz
Hmmmm.....there's a long running association between cops and doughnut shops....and it has an interesting history. It started way back in the 40's or sommit...the caffeine & sugar are good for keeping the cops awake, and they were the only places open at that time (middle of the night), making them prime candidates for robbery.
So it's got nothing to do with cops being lazy fucks that skive off somewhere warm and stuff their face. I wonder if Krispy Kreme take luncheon vouchers?
Nope - this is me I like football (sorry). Though fook knows why, my lot are shit - but we sacked our manager today so it can only get better. I hate it when they shut friggin motorways, its an occupational hazard in my job. Luckily I have been Sheffield bound today tho' so not been that far Norf
I am slightly embarrassed to say... Sheffield United I have been watching 'em that long - I actually recall when they were half decent I was stood right behind the goal and got my mug the papers as a result when Brian Deane scored the first ever Premier league goal past Peter Schmeichel. Sadly those heady days are long gone now ......cant even beat 4th division opposition now.....
