Has anyone run 13 on cams in an 09 engine? I'm looking at my options for an engine I'm building up.

I know they are a different part number.

Both cams are higher lift in the 13+ engine compared to 06-12 engines

Cheers for the info. Wonder whether they would work in the 09 engine. More lift, more power ???

Do you know if the valve centres are the same?

Do you mean the angle of the valves in the head or the position of all 12 valves in relation to the old head?

The position of the valves in the head against the old engine. I know the new engine is a wider bore and just wondered if the new cams lobes would li e up with the buckets

Mmmmm, might give Tony Scott a bell and see if they would work.

    Any progress on that swap?

I can confirm the above numbers.
The standard 2009 cam specs from the 2009 racing manual:
    - IN Duration 285.50 deg, Lift 9.25mm
    - EX Duration 246 deg, Lift 8.50mm

The standard 2013+ cam specs from the 2013 racing manual:
    - IN Duration 285.98 deg, Lift 9.40mm
    - EX Duration 247.08 deg, Lift 8.70mm

I may be interested of a swap like that as there is another advantage.
The 2013+ engines have adjustable cam sprockets which can also be used in the future with race/aftermarket/custom cams.

Just dial them in 102° imop 100° emop and check Ptv clearance and swing the cams accordingly till you get the correct clearance

    Ahh, got it :)
Thanks for your help on this, it good to learn from someone who know what they're talking about. I'm happy stripping engines and replacing parts (gearboxes etc) but some of the finer detail (dialling in cams etc) I leave to people who know.

Lift is the same as standard early cam as per supersport/fim regs only duration was free
