Fitted a new set of pads a couple of weeks ago

Still seem to be making a rubbing a sound... wouldnt say griding and it hasnt made any indentations or anything scary on the disc....

Do they just need a bit longer to bed in or should i be worried ??

  2. You done many miles?
Also, what state were the pistons in? There's a chance the muck on them might be stopping them from retracting properly.

First q is whether the wheel is running freely when it's off the floor (not a wheelie btw!), generally if you've got a bit of noise since you changed the pads there's friction causing it. However sintered pads like the SC or the HH do run a little noisier, but mostly when the brake is applied, if the wheel isn't running freely there's a few reasons:

1, the pads haven't bedded in and are touching somewhere,
2, the caliper seals have a problem and are not moving the pistons back off the disc when depressurised,
3, one or more of the pads is sticking in the caliper and staying in contact with the disc,
4, the brake lever/linkage/master cyl is not releasing properly and a small amount of pressure is keeping the pads in contact,
5, there's too much brake fluid in the reservoir holding pressure in the system.

If you have a problem it should be covered by the above. Hth, cheers DG.

I would go for number 1 on that list, 50 miles of light use is not enough to fully bed pads in on used discs IMO.

I would first try using a Scotch-Brite pad and clean the old pad's residue from the discs, see if that helps at all.
