    Evening Ladies and Gentlemen,

Need some clarification if possible, I remember reading somewhere that R1 calipers will fit directly to a 2006 675, firstly is this the case or was i just imagining it, secondly are the R1 calipers better than the 675 and thirdly i can not remember which R1 calipers they were (i think i remember it saying blue or gold dot but could be talking out my ar$e).

Some help would be much appreciated

    thanks
    James

Any jap calipers should fit mate as long as they are 108mm spacing, the later 6 pot R1 calipers will not fit but the earlier model R1 & R6 radials will, might have to space them slightly though if the bike they came from runs different diameter discs. They seem a popular choice so i'm guessing they must be an improvement, IMHO though the money is better spent on an uprated master cylinder ie brembo or similar as i've never had any complaints about the brakes on mine whilst on track.

  3. I've upgraded the calipers, pads, master cylinder and switched to race lines on mine. They all make a slight improvement but the master cylinder is by far the best and greatest change. I fitted the Brembo RCS unit and it has given the brakes tremendous feel; I highly recommend it.

  4. Out of Interest, why would you want too? Just for reference really, as the Nissin's are considered generally to be pretty good, I would say you would get a bigger difference by fitting a Brembo (Other products are available) M/C and changing the pad compound?

  5. Good point Phill. I've used Brembo stuff before and love the feel you get with their stuff. I've never really had much confidence in the standard setup so I decided to go with what I knew worked. I was planning on doing the M/C first but stumbled upon a cracking deal on a set of M4 calipers so I did them first. The standard lines won't fit with the M4 calipers so I changed them out of necessity.

If you run the figures of M/C piston and calipers surface area with pull ratio, you will get closer to the perfect setting with the M4 calipers than with the Nissin stuff.

I run a brembo 19/20 M/C with a race line set up and brembo m4 monoblocks and dot 5 brake fluid. The braking power is like nothing else really you can 2 finger brake and will stop on a grain of salt
