Rant on! Why are they so rubbish, seriously, I could run rings around all of them. Customer service is absolutely shite!! shite, yes I have sworn SHITE! Having had a problem once, it's back, same thing, in fact, it was the same on the way home from repair. I couldn't be bothered to dispute it, but now I can, and I'm told, can you bring it back so we can see. No! Roads are shite, it's cold, my bike is clean. Why should I ride my bike there and back 4 more times for them to look, and then I will have to return for it to fixed? Then I'm told, Triumph may not honour it. Hold on, it's under bloody warranty!!! I am fuming!! If they'd have done the job properly the first time, it wouldn't need to go back would it, you xyzzyg xyxsxy Jees Why why why why why. So disappointed.
Any company is only as good as the individual that deals with you IMHO. Perhaps you need to "bypass" whoever this is.?? Of course there are always also those businesses where ineptitude is endemic from the top down. Even if you deal with the most competent & motivated individual working for them, their ability to perform above the constraints of the environment will be undermined anyway..
In all fairness to the dealer, they tried to fix the issue (you don't mention what it is)...and when you told them it was still a problem and they asked you to return the bike, you told them no.....If they don't have the bike, then there's not much they can do to fix it. And let's bear in mind....a warranty issue like this is usually only good for a one-time fix...not endless re-fixes. That might sound bad initially, but is also where recurring problems start getting looked at from a recall standpoint. So hang in there, all is not lost yet. Probably. I think.
^^ not really, they didn't fix the problem, I've told them what's needed, same as the first time, nothing has changed. There just cutting corners. Basically my brake line is marking the mud guard. So replacing a mud guard isn't going to fix the problem, because the mudguard isn't the problem. It's the brake cable angle scratching it as you turn the bars to steer. So it's not exactly rocket science. Unless they address the problem, it will continue, which it has. After 8 miles: After 300 miles: See, it's being scuffed by the cable, can't be anything else, and I'm no scientist. So it needs the cable moved and a new guard. Why do they need to see the bike?! What else can it be pixies? Originally they said they'd replace the cables. They obviously didn't, and so spookily enough it has marked the new one on the ride home. Now I have to inconvenience myself for them? No no no no no.
I feel your pain mate. Nothing worse than thinking they've fixed something when they haven't and you realise you have to carry on going back and forth to that shitehole. And as you say its at YOUR inconvenience and time. Lots of deep breaths and dont let the inner chimp out of his box would be my advice ;p
This has happened on my last 3 triumphs you would think they would of sorted it by now??? It pisses me off when the bike has been in and you get home and things are not right and they say can you bring it back in grrrrrrrrr On my two yr service 4 weeks ago all good no problems, I get a call two days later was everything ok with your service, yes fine thank you but then he says when we removed your seat we noticed one of the threads was worn, we like you to bring it back and we will insert a thread insert, why didn't you do it while the poxy seat was off ?????? Ffs
It's just a liberty, I get that they need it to do the repair, but not to look at it, again. Seriously. Let's all rant! Thanks Gary, I thought it was just me. Grrrrr!!
I should think the issue is the standard lines are always close probably not a problem on gloss paint but matte paint it does. They wont have any longer lines as triumph dont make a longer one so until triumph admit they need to make a longer line for matte bikes they will just keep replacing mud guards.
I can't believe that's true. gloss paint wouldn't last five minutes in a fight against a steel brake line. It must be just the positioning of the brake line. Need to crack open the banjo, realign, tighten, test, repeat if necessary, bleed brakes. Not a difficult job for a decent dealer to get right in the first place surely?
