Unfortunately I've not used my Daytona much recently, however I've a track day booked for next week. As the bike hasn't been started in such a long time, and the fuel tank is removed, I was thinking of turning it over when it's like this just to get the oil around the engine. Any pit falls that anyone knows of doing this. ie the injectors not having fuel in them. Will it even turn over if doesn't see a signal from the fuel pump etc. Sent from my SM-S926B using 675.cc mobile app
I can see no problem with that approach. It will certainly turn over without the fuel pump connected. I’ve done that myself.
In manual it says to store the bike by removing the spark plugs and put a volume of oil in there (I believe it’s 5ml). I wonder if it’s worth doing something like this too?
I had prev removed the plugs and added a small amount of oil. But it was a while ago, and I wanted to get some oil round the whole engine. I did as I had already suggested and turned it over in short bursts. It started first time without any obvious issues, but the EML light was on. Checked with an OBD reader. Can't remember the exact wording, something along the lines "primary ignition coil A" with two other warnings with the same wording but B&C. Cleared the faults and restarted without the EML coming on. Sent from my SM-S926B using 675.cc mobile app
