    Hello Peeps,

I have finally got a new battery and got the bike stripped down so I can now see all the parts that needs to be replaced or altered. It has took me so long because just after I got the bike I was so busy with work and then I had a nice ten days holiday in Croatia which was just what i needed.

I have one problem now is that I was in such a rush and full of excitment That I put the new battery in and connected the terminals to the wrong sides like a tit. I checked the fuses at the front and they all seem to be intact, I also took the big fuse out from just in front of the battery which was 30 amp and that seemed fine to so I am now stumped because none of the dash will display and there is no movement at all from the bike not even a little burp.

If you have any answers what this could be or what I may of broken.

I no that this was a stupid and Noob thing to do but we have all been there.

    Thanks in advance

Oops. I didn't think that was possible! What with short leads and the terminals being on one side of the battery. Are you sure you've bought the correct replacement battery?

As to your problem, well I did the same once to my mum's morris minor and it pretty badly screwed the electrics so I would be worried that it would have fried the ecu and/or other stuff. Sorry :(

  3. Did the Morris minor have electrics. :).

Hi Josh, first thing to do is to check that power is getting to the right places, so you're going to have to get the multimeter and electrical drawing out, and start checking that fuses are actually being powered up etc. if you aren't 100% with electrical diagnosis I'd suggest getting a trusted mate that is to go through it with you to be sure.

If all the fuses are powered, check any relays in the power up chain, if they are working properly unplug the Ecu and the clocks and check power is getting to the correct wires there. If all is well with the system as a whole then it's very probably that the Ecu and/or the clocks are knackered. It'll be a long job, but it's that or face the bill from either an Auto Spark or from Triumph, neither will be cheap in my experience.

first things first have you tried the kill switch ?
on the daytona it disables the dash lights and everything

secondly i might be wrong but im sure someone else has done this and damaged something possibly the ecu
but im not 100 % if i saw that on this forum

  6. Sorry, have to ask; did you charge the new battery?

    Hello guys,

I have fixed the problem with just one 30 amp fuse under the tank that I didn't see the other day.

I have now started the bike for the first time since I got her and OMFG she is amazing runs great with no problems now its time to get my hand in my pocket and buy the bits to fix her.

Thanks again guys support is great on this site.

The fuse under the tank? Is that the same as the one under the seat?
