anyone considoring using harveys or bensons for beds ?
well let me just share my recent experience with you
delivery date was friday 3rd march so aranged a day off work unpaid delivery 7am till 1pm
at 2.30 i phoned to see where the new bed was
got another number to ring and they told me it wasnt even on the van
WHAT ive all ready had the old 1 took away so was given a customer service number who in turn gave me another number who then told me i would have to ring another number who kept me on hold for over a hour
while on hold i found email address and sent a email which went unanswered
eventually i got through on the phone and all they could offer was a phone call monday to discuss it
so friday saturday and sunday without a bed then however long they decide to keep me waiting
then this morning sunday a woman phones to say she has just read email and will sort this asap "how about we deliver your bed friday 17th march " yes 2 weeks late and with offer of a air bed to put me on
absolutely unacceptable to me and the order is over a grand

Do you have a receipt for the new bed you brought, that states the delivery date on it Scaramanga.?
If so (unless they have some clever clause in the small print) I would have thought you would have some redress for breach of contract.
Keep a detailed account of all communications, including dates times duration etc...
Small claims court may see you with a new bed, eventually.?
@kwacky may well put me right though..

not only recipt but text message stating time of delivery that was sent 2 days before

the bed is for my son who had to go spend the weekend over at his mams which is over 100 mile away
i know it wont solve the issue but i intend to post this over a few forums untill i get it sorted hopefully it will make others aware and might cause them as much grieff as im getting

  5. Vote with your feet, simple as that.. or get a massive reduction.
Sending lad 100 miles away, seems extreme and what's wrong with the sofa / cheap camp bed?

Not sure £1000 is cheap to be fair.

He bought the bed, and they should have brought the bed, as agreed.

Cheap doesn't always mean bad service.

The worst car servicing, and customer experience I ever had was from Mercedes Benz, with a car work £30k, yet my wife at the times £6k Ford KA had simply superb servicing from Ford, for less than I paid for my sliding roof to be serviced.

On the grand scheme of it I think a thousand is pretty cheap for a bed. I've spent more on a duvet. In today's economy you don't get much better than a straw filled mattress for that these days. I mean benson for beds. Really.
Try And so to bed or John Lewis etc the retail park people don't offer a great service so if it was me I wouldn't be moaning that I didn't receive one!

  10. You wouldn't be complaining if you spent a grand on something and it hadn't turned up?!

Do you want to buy my bike? It's a grand, I promise to deliver it once you've transfered the money...

I can't stand when companies miss delivery slots, happened with our sofas and like you they weren't even on the lorry, my wife complained on every form of social media and eventually got them delivered and to be fair they did refund the delivery. Pretty sure Twitter got her the faster response!

all very well for people living in or near big citys
    also people with big budgets
we dont have much choice up north where you can actualy go and see what your buying
as of conversation with customer services today there attitude made it hard to cary on with transaction
the shop aranged for delivery to the store tomorrow and i was going to collect at first customer services wernt even gonna let me off with delivery charge but then said ok well refund delivery but thats all your getting i said if thats all they were offering id cancel so he replied looks like your gonna cancel then
i phoned the shop back and customer services had phoned shop saying id canceled
aparantly i have to wait for area manager to aprove refund before i get my money back
ill be going into shop tomorrow night if ive not got my refund

Bit like the bargain telly I bought. The volume button was knackered but I couldn't turn it down.
