lol I am, indeed, just under 5'6", but I just 'slide (a cheek) and stop' - haven't got a lowering kit. If anything, I'm looking to possibly increase the ride height (involves changing rear suspension to an adjustable one though!) if dropping the forks through by another 5mm (I've already tried 5mm) doesn't do as much as I hope it will!

    Hi there :)

    Hey there

I'm about the same height as you, a shade under 5 foot 6, thats actually taller than average ;)

I'm getting used to it, I had the rear spring adjusted which gave me an extra half a cm. General riding is fine, its the parking and slow moving out of areas with really bad rutted roads when I can't get my foot down easily thats tricky. However the more I ride it the better its getting...........have dropped it in slow motion thou :) no marks but i'm going to get the crash protection kit.

Next spring I'm going to start track days on it, was orginally thinking not too, but its a bit nuts to buy a pure track bike then hire something less capable to take on the track. I'm going to get some race faring and crash bungs, but honestly just work on getting faster slowly and not crashing!

Umm and why are u changing your suspension?

    Lovely to meet you.

Lovely to meet you too :)

Definitely worth getting the kit for that! There's a lot of debate over whether the fairing bungs are a good thing on not - in high speed offs they've been known to catch and flip the bike over. However, on balance I definitely think they're better to have than not, especially for zero-MPH drops for us vertically challenged!

It's the best! I've been riding for 3 years and a little bit, and tracking for a year and a little bit, and am thoroughly addicted!

Well, for starters, like a lot of people on slicks (which I've just started using), I'm starting to feel the limitations of the stock suspension, and am thinking now's the time to upgrade. Wasn't ready when there was the nitron offer on, and now kinda regret it! Secondly, lifting the rear / dropping the front helps the bike turn in quicker. I'm certainly finding that I'm running wide on certain types of corners on track, and would really like to experiment with the bike's geometry.

    Hi again

Thank you for the advice, i've done 2 track days but they were more experiance days and I think i'll start off next years seasion with a Ron Haslam day, which i heard the forum did once before as a big group. I met Harriet last night and she said she has met you too, and she is keen to do track days again next summer, we'll all have to get together and do a couple.

Look forward to meeting you sometime soon.
