Welcome to the Forum Haven't ridden my bike yet and it's fitted with Super Corsas. Are they really that bad in the wet?
ummm they can't warm up to work properly, so I'd say yes. However if you are very experianced then mabye you'll find it ok, I''ve only been riding 4 years.
A ride out would be good. What lucky 13 hasnt said was that she was going to get the 848 evo. However after going to on yer bike in Aylesbury. There was a bit of a patronising dick on the Ducati desk. Seemed startled a girl wanted to ride 'a twin'. More fool him she was a sure purchase. The Ducati was not as good as she thought it was going to be. After an unforeseen chance to ride on "just a little 600cc" street triple ( her words) where she did an unintended wheely up the road from jack lilleys. I wanted her to buy British. She saw 'the dark'...then she was hooked! Yes I bought one too. We just need some matching anoraks now...black/red of course! Her cowl is ally!
They both look great I like the black alot ur just get the run of the mill R lol I love mine to bits and spent a small fortune on it so will never sell it have fun and enjoy them
Thank you for the info. I have been riding my 675 for...Umm...er...about 2 minutes...lol (It was dry) I have been riding recently for 3 years. When I was younger I rode a 50cc bike for about 10 years (but that can't really count...lol) I race whippets (not literally...lol) I might take a pair of 'massage gloves out with me and rub the tyres until they are hot!...lol
Until I gain experience, I think I might just stick to 'dry' weather. (That' will be about 2 days practice a year then...lol) Hopefully the tyres 'stick' to the dry as well! I'm still trying to get my head around the idea of traveling at 100 in the wet...lol
Lucky13 how do you find those tyres? What's the profile on them? Have they got a quick turn in? Ive got the Michelin pilot road 3 they are very good in the wet and straight from the off ( cold) they are very dim witted in the turns uses to get pretty low with the supercorsas till I came off wkd very cold tyres then they went a week after!! Tho I had the Dunlop Qualifier's and they were pretty reasonable in wet conditions with a very quick turn in....used to lean it so low the foot peg slid along the floor!! Enjoy riding the dark....what bike you used to ride?
Gotta say, I've never had a problem with Rosso Corsa's in the wet. My STR came on them as standard fit and I rode home in the rain (isn't that always the way) after buying it. I live about 60/70 miles from the dealer in question. I just fitted Rosso 2's to my Daytona and ended up scrubbing them in (not directly by choice but through necessity) on a very wet Snake Pass and Woodhead Pass. As long as you are careful with the controls - they are OK too. On the gel seat thing - I just put one on my SE. Aside from the fact it looks better and my original had a small split - I am struggling to tell much difference either in comfort or in height....
Nope, not had a Hornet, had a Harley, Buell 1125 CR, Blade and now the Dark. I haven't got my knee down yet never mind scratching my pegs however even when I make a bunch if idiotic mistakes I seem to stay inboard so far..... I lost control of the back end a few times in bad conditions with the corsas so I just feel more confident on these, it could be mental issue too, I have a few of them
I wouldn't worry about not touching the pegs down, I normally run fairly well in the fast group on track days and the only times my pegs have touched the floor is when me and the bike have parted company in a hurry. That includes the standard pegs btw. ;-)
Yea I understand ive had the same problem with the supercorsas they are great when it's baking hot and they warm up and become sticky but when it's cold from the off and wet they are massively bad!! Only time I had confidence in themin the wet ( I picked the bike up when it was torrential rain) was when I blasted down the motorway at sum speed then hit towns and doing g alot of turning...then they are pretty good!! You had a blade....what made you go to a Daytona R then? X
Haha StM well I didnt want to make lucky13 feel bad for leaving the old blade behind....now they can feel proud of being part of the family
My Blade was 10 years old, and I had been an awful mother, it was never washed, left outside in all weather, and just treated like a slave. When I had it serviced the guys asked me if I stored it in the bottom of a pond...... But everytime i pushed the button it started and it never gave me any issues and it was very forgiving with my riding. But when 23/30 got his Triple I saw all these shinny new bikes, then went to the Triumph live day and saw the Dark, it was my birthday, I could get 13, hence the bike. Ironically I am now thinking of buying another old Blade like the one i chopped in, so that I can drive into London, or anywhere else and park up and not worry about it. I'm too worried to take the Dark in and just leave it even though its alarmed and disc locked. I also thought then I could use a Blade on Track days too, as I don't think I'll take the 675 there. Really its just a bottomless money pit since I got it........but love it!
