Folks, there's lots of these on eBay. Just wondering if someone has seen one in the flesh? Anyone know what the fitment is like? Or the quality? STR gen 1 rads hard to find in decent nick. I'm getting mine repaired hopefully but it'd be really helpful to know if these were any good without spending the money just to find out! They look ok in the picture but....I wonder. 2. I think you mean Aluminium? (rather than stainless steel as per your title)

I've seen a few of the aluminium Daytona versions, which are a lot cheaper than those Street Triple ones. They're not bad quality for the price, one thing I have heard about them is they're tricky to bleed.

@Colin Smith Thank you. You're quite right! Aluminium is exactly what I meant. Been polishing the exhaust and I've stainless on the brain! Useful to know. I noticed the street ones at nearly doubled the Daytona ones. No idea why but provided they're decent it's not too bad I guess. The alternative is triumph! At £560. Odd that they'd be hard to bleed but exactly the type of information needed. It suggests the internals are different.

  4. If you can't get a satisfactory repair done on yours, I am pretty sure I have a very good Street Triple radiator in my storage unit.

That's very kind Colin. I'll get sorted hopefully and if not...drop you a message. Really appreciate it.

I've had one on my bike for quite a few years now, using waterless coolant though and it did have the smallest of leaks which a tiny bit of radweld dealt with.

Though I did change the radiator cap for a better one, other than that fitment was good on mine and no issues

Thanks Stephen. That's the sort of thing that really helps. It's not particularly inspiring that it leaked but I guess there's always something to sort with aftermarket parts before they fit/work. Hmmm... I'll have a think. Cheers

i have one on my Sprint, which i got with some spare bodywork after i had an incident... :D

it fit perfectly, but the rad cap seems to be a slightly different size or fitting to the original, so i will need to work out what cap to use if i ever need to replace it, as the one from my original rad wont work.
