My bike does not have an alarm, I had a Datatool 3 on my D650 and it drove me nuts, so decided not to bother on the 675. As Min says, if someone wants it, they'll take it... when did you last see someone come running to a bike alarm....

If you has an alarm, Optimate essential I would say...

Abbas are the business, unless you want to put on tyre warmers.

  6. I agree, an Abba Stand is a great bit of kit to have in the garage for doing bits and pieces as they are so stable.

Conventional stands all the way if your ever going to need tyre warmers etc for track. I have also got a front stand that goes under the yoke, it's much much better but you need to undo the Horn to get the pivot in properly. Only takes a few mins.

Definitely invest in an optimate to please your alarm, and get the garage to set the alarm to a less sensitive setting, when I had one fitted to my STR the alarm used to go off in the garage every other day with no interference so had the alarm removed in the end. The Abba stand is a brilliant bit of kit, one man job, very easy to use. I, like some others, went straight from passing my test to a 675, but a Street Triple R rather than a Daytona, essentially the same bike but different riding position and power delivery (and naked), but still el rapido, haven't regretted it at all, they are so forgiving and confidence inspiring.

  9. Hi Jamie. Congratulations on passing your Theory. I've got mine on Friday. Can I ask you a question about it? Did you practice with the DVD? And if so, was it close to that in the actual Theory test? I only ask this as I'm getting every question right now. And I'm getting 6-65 on the Hazard Perception part. Thanks in advance for any info. Good Luck with your Mod1 :)

Hi there sniper.i practiced online.if you goto dvla you can buy for £10. You then download it and practice away.i managed 47out of 50.i just kept doing the mock test over and over again til my head hurt. It wasn't as bad as I thought . I went into a room in my own cubicle and just followed the instructions on the computer. They give you 57mins for the first test but after loads of practice you'll get it done in about 15 mins.just make sure you read some of the questions twice as one wasn't completely clear but after reading it again I understood it.with the hazard test I downloaded an app that let me practice about 14videos. It made me loads less nervous about the real thing. Best thing is to look on Internet about hazard test as it gives some great tips. Good luck for Friday. It isn't that bad.

Hi all got my optimate on order and also ordered an abba stand.i won't be using bike on track so tyre warmers aren't needed. Bring on the lessons and test so I can take me little beauty out.

   I will lay a small wager that (if you are still enjoying owning your bike) you will be eating your words by this time next year mate. ;)

  13. Thanks Jamie. I've done the mock test over 100 times now. Passed every time. I'll be surprised if I fail now. Also, with the Hazard Perception, it looks too easy. I've never got under 60. The pass mark says 44.
Good luck with your practising for Mod1 mate :)

Hi there stmarks I'm very sure I'll be loving it still next year and after readin much of the forum maybe a novice day on the track would do me some good at least to get some more experience at cornering etc.
