If you are worried about the power then fit a throttle stop like the 33bhp one. It wont be on for long. Sent from an Android
Thanks everyone.im taking everything on board.well 2moro i should hopefully pass theory. I've been busy revising ,I even missed a night out with the lads on Thursday just so I could swat up more.i will keep you all informed .thanks again.
Aw Jamie!!!! Don't sell your fantastic new bike before you've even ridden it - you would regret it, really you would. OK I'm biased cos I have one (not 'R' though - mine's a 2008 Masterbike) and I help Craig admin this site, but as you'll have seen from the other owner comments, you really need to ride it to believe just awesomely good this bike is. It can be insanely fast, and the brakes are sharp as can be (so - NO GRABBING A FISTFUL, OK????), but the handling is sweet as Yes read all you like, but I guarantee that you'll get to your first corner, right gear, line her up, best visibility into the bend, look where you want to go, correct throttle, push on the inside bar, the bike will sail round, and you'll have the biggest hard you ever did You'll learn and do your test on a 500cc bike and you'll be bored of it in no time. Please believe me, your 675 is a world away Your 675 is well behaved, it has good manners and won't give you nasty surprises as long as you don't do anything stupid like grabbing the brake mid corner. Oh the horses are there all right, and lots of them too, but you need to find them, you can ride it like a 250 if you want to. You're nearly 40 so you're sensible, not like some on here Arms flat to the bars (well as flat as you can get em!!) and those bars are just a joy. Just you wait!!!! Probably unbearable - but, grasshopper, the best is yet to come Stick with it!!!! And don't let the naysayers put you off, cos opinions are like arseholes, everybody has one
PS Good luck with the theory. They ask really bizarre and daft quezzies, but it's all in the Highway Code, so make sure you know ALL the roadsigns, not just the obvious ones, and make sure you know EVERYTHING in the Highway Code. K???
Thanks for your replies. I'm gonna hang on in there and just take it easy. I think my kids are just as excited as me if not more about getting the bike. I've been and got all the leathers jacket, trousers, boots, gloves and helmet.will post some pics when I get it. . My brother is getting a bike too soon. He's just on the lookout at the moment. He's been looking at the ninjas.(he's been riding for years).he went to have a look at the daytona and thinks he'll get one instead.he used to have Honda CBr or something (not sure which one). I'll get the shop to sort the suspension so as to be softer as well. Thanks for all your help. Right I'm off now to do some more revising.chow for now.
Not ti November.most places are booked up because of this new law coming in,in January.well I can sit there and look at her.not be long.
Welcome and congrats on theory and don't worry about the bike.My 675 was my first proper bike too, first summer i just pottered about on it got loads of miles under me then this year i have just started to get the hang of it.Next year hopefully do a novice trackday.
Welcome to the site, have you tried the uploader? https://www.675.cc/upload/ Any probs uploading the pic to the thread let me know! Looking forward to seeing the pics!!
Hi there.i I tried the uploader,I chose the pic it seemed to upload it then when I came back to the forum it wasn't there.i'll try again.
I've read a few reviews on this bike and came to the conclusion it's a marmite thing. You love or you hate it. I adore it. When I saw it, the shape, everything about it was (to me) better than the Yamaha r6 I sat on a few minutes earlier.it felt comfier and I could put both feet to the ground.i must admit (my opinion)the picture doesn't give it justice.the guy at the shop said they'll put a an alarm on it. Does anyone know of a good alarm as I don't mind paying a little more to upgrade the alarm before they fit it. I think he said something about alarm being something 4 ( hope I'm making sense).many thanks jamie
Datatool 4 alarm. Don't worry too much about the bike being your first "big" bike, Jamie...my Daytona 650 was my first bike ever at 38 years old (me, not the bike!) and I had to have a mate ride it home for cos I didn't know how to ride a bike...I'll have had it seven years this Friday...no regrets at all.
I'd like to thank everyone for the warm welcome to this forum and handy tips and the vote of confidence.cheers.
The Datatool 4 (Triumph) alarm/immobiliser as D says its a standard fitment on Triumphs and to be honest a very good alarm system as they go, there have been a few members who have had niggles with them but the bike loom has been spoecifically designed to take them so they fit without having to chop the wires to bits (usually creating other problems eventually) and as a bonus they are accepted by most insurers as a method of lowering your premium a little. Bottom line is that no system is perfect and if some little scrotum wants your baby bad enough etc etc - just make it frickin hard for them with ground anchors, chains, disc locks, a claymore under the seat etc. My only other advice would be to invest in an optimate or similar and keep your baby on "life support" as the battery will take a hammering from the alarm system if stood for any considerable time and there is nowt worse than when its time to ride getting all kitted up, thumbing the button and CLICK! OH and a big welcome to the forum BTW. Enjoy the bike!!!
Welcome mate i had my new 675 waiting for me on the drive before i passed my test also Its an great choice of a first bike which is easier to ride and get on with compared to the Jap lot I will say what some have said before go out alone for first few months... No pressure no one to impress, Enjoy mate!!!!
Been to shop today to finalise the finance side of things, ordered gel seat and tail tidy ready for when she is delivered.thats it now no more paying for bits on it,costing me a fortune..thinking of going to the mcn weekend in February with me bro should be a good laugh. Anybody else thinking of going.
