Love the look of this new model and if the write ups are correct boy it's going to be good.

One write up says you can pin it out of a corner like a 600 without the fear of high siding.

Roll on the Spring so I can demo ride it

The current zx10r is very easy to ride fast. The engine spins up sweetly, there's grunt from the off and it's a very smooth and creamy delivery.

The current one has traction control, the new one has a couple more features so you can pin it without fear of a highside, which was always an issue with the big sports bikes.

  4. I sat on it at the show but found it a bit awkward compared to the other 1k's. It feels really wide in the tank with quite narrow bars. My favourite is the RSV4. Also the welds on the swingarm are like pigeon crap

I liked the seating position, from what I read they have changed most things from the 15 model, thinking of moving up to a 1000cc again but not till 2017 this will be on my list, the rsv4 is lush but near on 19k way out of my league

The zx10r is very well priced considering what you get for your money. It's been designed with help from their racers so you know it's going to be quick.

  7. Agree, it's a shame they don't bring in the 14.5k-15k one anymore, it seems very few are actually buying the RF so it hasn't worked bringing only that one in.

But it's not been updated for years now. Even the Gixxer Thou is being brought up to date for 2016.

Honda seem to have lost interest in the sports bike market.

Very true. But now that modern litre bikes are brimming with rider safety electronic aids you wonder if it's worth saving 2 or 3k to have an older bike without the gizmos looking after you.

don't get me wrong I would want all the gizmos but as a cost thing the blade is excellent value, where I don't think the 1299/rsv4 rf/ current R1 are way over priced IMO.

I know a lot of people who could not use 50% of what the blade has to offer me included, same goes for all the other modern sports bikes so much power think the new zx10 has 207 bhp ish you can have every gizmo available but theres a lot of people on the right roads riding a Street Triple R that will make those sports bikes look silly (track is different)

  13. The new zx10 does look the biz, and I'd love one but the cost is a killer. If I were buying a litre bike now I'd be looking at second hand blade or a current zx10r just as they are affordable (ish) to run on track and not worry too much that an off is going to kill it.

  14. I do still think the fireblade and GSXR1k are absolute weapons, would seriously consider buy one for £10k then spending £1k on. Suspension and a few hundred on trackday fairings for still much less than a zx10, and far less than a r1 etc but there is no arguing their calibre out the box, it's just u pay your money and make your choice!
