our triumphs are uk built but there not twice the price of the jap bikes and as for minimum wage how many of you could live on that wage ?
Not at all and I don't particular care about buying British but from a customer service point of view it's handy they are here and not in Germany or Hong Kong. It's just a good bit of kit made by a nice bunch of guys from Yorkshire. Happy to give them the business.
They do look awesome but it's just too expensive for what it is. Given the volume of lifts and paddock stand out there, this does really need to be sub £300 to appeal to the mass market. Anyone raised the question of a group buy with them??
I passed on a link to this thread and mentioned to speak to Craig about the trading section. So hopefully they can come to some arrangement. I mentioned about the lift group buy that everyone was trying to get off ground a while back so there could be a good bit of interest for them.
thanks for the pic. The top lug which will be black and will blend in will be really good but what was there over the bottom lug or was that another part they sent?
Thats the swingarm pivot. It has a little black rubber bung that sits over it which you pull out. THe lower lug that lives on the stand then kind of cups that pivot nut inside the circle. Thinking about it now it probably will fit over the rubber bung will look tonight. Gary im not 100% but i dont think the warrior is suitable for storage. The 1Jac is.Well at least its marketed as one of the factors. Tony when at excel speak to a guy called Chris.
What's it like to remove and more importantly replace the rubber bung over the swingarm pivot? Thanks
The rubber bing just slips back on, if it is hard to push in then a smear of oil is all it needs, wd40 anything that will lube it, I use an abba stand and that's the mounting point for them, well I guess it's the same as the STR and that's how I put it back on, and I've still got it so it does stay in if you put oil on it
Thanks Bruce. I have an NWS stand that uses the swing arm pivots and gf's STR has those bungs. Was too afraid to pull them off in case they didn't go on again.
Generally speaking you get what you pay for. I would well pissed if my bike fell over causing a grand plus of damage cos I skimped to save a few quid on the stand that held it up. I currently use Harris stands, more expensive than the cheap import shit, but I am 100% certain the bike will stay on them as long as I wish. The lift looks a great idea. If they ever do a four wheel drive version ( my garage floor has a stipple effect when they laid the concrete) I would be up for one
I asked the guy about that Charlie as mine is the same, he said to inform them what type of finish was on the floor and they would provide the proper wheels for that surface, apparently the only covering they haven't mastered yet is thick carpet
My mates concrete floor was really rough so he bought heavy duty plastic tiles looks the tits and the 1jac spins round withtwo fingers on the bars.
I got one of these bike lifts from Constand in Germany for £ 160 delivered. Been using it very successfully for servicing, cleaning, maintenance. Very good bike lift, just got to remember not to wiggle the bike too much or it may work its way off the holding lugs.... and that would be nasty. But so far in 18 month no worries or issues
A little update. It does fit on the stand with the bung attached but it does move the lug holder out of the top lug by a few mm. So in the interest of safety and not wanting my expensive bike to hit the deck im going to stick with the 3 seconds to remove and refit the rubber bung. I have carpet on my floor in garage requires a bit of a tug to move it off it but nothing a well built man with athletic thighs couldn't manage.
Haha, have same tiles in th bike end of my garage, although not stuck down yet. But my garage is much more cluttered, unless they were carefully staged pics
