No worries, i dont know the dimensions of the 1050 mod and it lists the dimensions-Degrees change on here for 3 of the sizes...
My road 675 std throttle is approx 85 deg, track 675 with 1050 mod is approx 65deg. These are eyeball approximations only checked in my garage 5 mins back. Hope that helps.
Just fitted my new throttle tube, took all of maybe 10 mins once I had got the bar end off ( had to use the butterfly clips) and already feels tons more responsive, even just clipping the throttle, am taking I in to work tomorrow so will let you know what I think!
Took the bike into work thismorning, the throttle is tons better, although it seems to stick a bit during the first 15 or so degrees, ie. When there's not much tension in the cable, is this normal and will it work itself out or would it be better to put something on it to ease the movement?? Lube or oil or something along those lines...?
i tightened my standard throttle to get rid of the slack and that happened, loosened it up a little and put a tiny bit of slack back in and its fine now.
This may happen if you overtighten the two set screws holding the cable cover assembly together as it did on mine a little so I used Threadlock upon reassembly and only tightened them 'just enough' with a nip to hold the cover assembly together. I also sprayed the inside of the cable cover with PTFE dry lube spray as it wont gather dust and go stiff with age like grease. Once the Threadlock fluid was set, there's no way the set screws are gonna vibrate loose and it now doesn't clamp the two throttle cables so much. Richard.
It's easy to forget just how good this mod is. I sorted out the slack in my cable again last night and it just makes the whole bike delightful to ride. My cable has obviously stretched quite a bit beeing held open for long motorway runs recently. Its amazing the difference, a few turns and the snatchy feeling at low speeds is gone. One thing my grip is coming unstuck on the tube near the bar end should i just glue it back on ?
Re: Re: 1050 Throttle mod If its the standard grip its not glued anyway, a bit of fairy liquid works for me
