Hey all, Just wondering if anyone knows what the 0-60 is on our bikes or has had the balls to fully flick that wrist from still and see what its taken them? Got a mate who's just got a new car - 0-60 : 5s!
I guess it depends on the weight of the rider - I've seen it quote at 3.6 secs somewhere. Certainly I would think around the 4 second mark.
Thanks Steffy A little disappointed, I thought it'd be closer to 3 or under it lol. Any of you ever had the balls to test this?
Iirc the older bikes were timed at 3.4secs, 2009 onward bikes were 3.2secs. Tbh you've got to be spending £100k+ on most cars to get near those times, there's a Caterham that can compete but even that's £48k. :?
Well buy a S1k BMW S1000RR 0-60: 3.0 seconds 1/4-mile: 10.3@144 mph 100-150 mph: 5.5 seconds 0-150: 10.8 seconds First website I found but I'm sure with the +1 it's quicker And yep launch mode works
Looks like we may have to do two days at Santapod next year. 1. Run what yer brung 2. First round of the European.
Fixed... apart from a minor fracture which hasn't knitted yet... and the muscles need building up again... but it's only the clutch hand and I don't need that for up-shifting.
I have read STR is about 0-60 3.3 secs, I would guess it is quite a variation depending on the rider, weight, mods. (Low Boy)
Nila there are quite a few cars kicking around now that 0-60 in 5 secs and just over, Audi RS3 Standard now has been recorded 0-60 in 3.9, a Remapped one to stage 1, pretty sure it is 0-60 in 3.5 secs. Again pretty impressive for a 40k car. My S3 4WD reckon is 5 secs Stage 1 DSG when you think it is only a 2 litre Engine. Mercedes next yr are bringing out a A Class AMG 4WD 2 Litre that is suppose to have 330 BHP +, quoted sub 5 secs to 60, and that is a 2 Litre engine in standard form
Anyone attending the tt can enter the Ramsey sprint, it's held on mad Sunday and the Tuesday of tt week and this yr cost £30 or £35 not sure as it pissed it down in the end so I deathed it for the pub. Anyway for that you get to give your bike full beans as many times as u like/time permits in front of big crowds of bike fans, quality day out at the tt!
I forget what Sport Rider tested the '09 and the 675R at, but I think they were both in the low 3's. BUT!!!....it pays to bear in mind they bring in professional drag racers to do the 0-60, 0-100, 1/4-mile tests. 0-60 times for bikes are a bit useless, IMHO....they serve as a good general indicator of power in a car, but on a sportbike the times are really just too close to call....an R6 will beat an S1000RR to 60, but it won't beat it in the quarter mile. And as already mentioned, what about the -1+1 conversion...or even -1+2??.....Sport Rider also tried this a few years ago, they ran a test where they specified a set $$$ amount spent on mods...think it was $500? So basically just an aftermarket exhaust and new sprockets were used, along with dialing the suspension in and lowering the bikes.....and of course the usual pair of drag-racers to do the tests (I forget their names). If memory serves they got the 600's they used down into the high 9's, and the litrebikes down into the low 9's...that's Hayabusa territory!!
Kwak ZZR1400 0-60 = 2.9 secs Bugatti Veyron 0-60 = 2.4 secs ......... and well over a million £ between them............although the bugatti will spank it on top speed obviously
That would be the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport at 2.45s - only 30 made and about £1.7 million! The V-Max will do 0-60 in 2.5s apparently. I prefer the 0-100mph times and 0-100-0 times - much more real-world.
