With part ex deals they normally only need the straps. Cut them out a £5 shitter unless yours is Knackered. Then you've got a spare still.

  5. Get a X Lite. Comfortable, not overly noisey and light (hence the name). X Lite are made by Nolan. Whore Gay wears X Lite and Aussie Moaner wears Nolan. And of course the great Foggy was an X Lite man

I have the the new stealth sv stile union jack £220 and I love it. Comfortable, quiet, great fit. Best helmet I have had and my 2nd AGV. Would recommend..

  7. I recently purchased an AGV Stealth SV helmet. Before I fitted the ear cushioning, I rode over to a Triumph rally near Orleans in France, and the helmet was quite noisy compared to an Arai. Two weeks later I rode over to a Triumph rally near Hoogeveen in Netherlands, but this time with the ear cushioning fitted, and the helmet was as quiet as the Arai I used to have before. The ear cushioning that is supplied with the helmet is effective at cutting down the noise. The reason that it is not originally supplied fitted is to allow "bluetooth" to be installed; whatever that is?

The secondary dark visor is very dark however, and an amber tinted visor would have been more suitable for our relatively northern lattitude.

The chin strap has the effective double-D fastening.

As for the padding rubbing the cheeks, this only lasts for a few weeks, and then it beds in. I've not had a helmet that has rubbed like that before, and I've only been riding for 29 years so far, but after two weeks it's like any other helmet..it's comfortable.

With the contoured (not flat) base, it takes longer to securely fit a headover (tube / neck-warmer...) under the base of the helmet, which becomes necessary to get right before winter commuting.

On colder mornings, the visor can mist on the central lowest part of the visor, where the chin vents allow the cooler air entry. So to read your instruments you need to just lower your chin momentarily. No great problem.

  8. Helmets are VAT exempt. Unless I misunderstood the post.

I have had one for about 12 months any yes it was noisy, however I got it purely for the AGV Bluetooth kit that slots in to the recesses in helmet for the speakers. I find it can still be a bit noisy on a really windy day but the speakers cut out a lot of the noise. I have also found it misting briefly as well, but it soon clears.

Prior to this one I had a HJC FS 10, that was not just noisy but also you could feel the wind in the helmet where the sun visor comes down.

  10. I am quite stubbly and havent had the rubbing that others have mentioned, no ear cushioning in mine that im aware of and it seems quie but that is compared to old stealth which really was noisy as anything. I paid £200 for mine and got a free agv dark visor, but that was at BMF. I got the syle in the italian colours, didnt fancy the union one.

Thanks for all the feedback, you guys would have just fully sold me on the AGV if it wasn't for the trade in offer being done.

I'm gonna get a Shoei XR 1100 in matt black with the trade in offer - £230!
