    Hi Guys!

Had my engine out and dry for a few months, kept in dry storage and all sealed up. Have it back in the bike now and getting ready to attach everything again and get it going.

Wondering if an engine prime is needed for these bikes (2015 STR)? I know some more modern oil pumps don't need it as they almost instantly build pressure and get it circulating.

Worth pulling the plugs and CPS and turning over on the starter for a few mins to build pressure?

    Tah

  2. I would prime it.
Before that, I would also have the plugs out and put a little oil down each cylinder a day or so before attempting a prime/start.

    Thanks Bob

Maybe you also know about the CPS. Everything I read says it’s should be a white 2 pin but can’t seem to find anything matching that.

The only two pin I see from from the stator is red

Did they change as the models went on ?

Ended up leaving this connected and just removing the coils and plugs. Gave her a few turns.

The swearing ensued when I realised the clutch lever was the wrong side of the frame and will need to pop that cover off. Lessons learned for next time.
