Does anyone know what this is.

Tidying up the harness and found this. I suspect the bike may have had an alarm at some point and this is a remnant of it but not 100% sure.
Can it just be cut out?

It’s a bypass for the alarm system if you take it out it won’t turn on

Fwiw I concur with everything cpatel89 has helpfully advised you CamPhair

 

You can wire it out if you are stripping your loom for a race bike. Trace the wires back and all will become clear.

Yep, wiring continuity circuit, to avoid the ignition failing to turn on when the triumph alarm isn’t fitted

Ignition is dead when it's removed.
