Have searched but can't find a solution to this problem and need the bike for tomorrow. Went to start my bike...turned the key...pressed the start button....nothing... Thought maybe the key, so tried the spare...nothing... Battery is good....dash lights up, rev counter terms goes and you can hear the normal noise of the pump or something going when you turn the key.... Possibly the immobiliser, any clues please...and yes, kill switch is fine, stand is fine....tried in neutral and in gear with clutch in.....
Try bumping it, if it starts its pointing towards the starter solenoid. Easy to swap out and very cheap too PS: turn the ignition on, with a piece of wire.. touch the terminals and if bike starts... viola
What terminals.?... Surely not starter solenoid...it's hardly 2 years old...wudnt it be covered by warranty ?
You asked for advice, I gave it to you Age does not matter, things break and breakdown - have you tried bumping it as its small light bike and easily done?
Battery....if the battery is knackered it'll still light the dash etc but as the starter kicks in the voltage drops and the ecu will kill everything to protect itself. Bump it and if it starts it's likely to be battery or starter solenoid
Sorted now thanks....fitted new levers...set them to position 6....sorted....thanks anyway...knew it had to be something stupid.and my fault....
