sorry curtis , i didn't know you had a white se ,so it was probably you then

  2. I was there, great day. Good to see you, fkkr1s. Sorry we had to run. We were late anyway, as it turned out. We arrived at the base around 10.30 and left just after 1.30 I think although I did see you again in Wootten Bassett. Definitely glad I went. I'll try and get some videos and photos on the web.

Great fun - I was packet 4 - didnt see any other 675s!

Gold 08 675 yellow/black leathers & helmet if anyone saw me!

  4. what an awesome sight.... we got there at 11:10 and actually got on the road from the airbase at 15:30.. i think their plans started to go very pear shaped. At one stage there were three runways crammed with parked bikes and groups of bikes and trikes making a dash for it.... out of the queue and across the grass to join the leaving group, if someone could have got a shot of it from above it would have looked superb, especially at one point when this knobhead bobby (on foot) rushed out onto the grass to try and stop them... hilarious.

Anyway, being so late riding through the villages I didn't really expect to see the locals still on the streets BUT THEY WERE. Those people are a real credit to the country.

I hope this event not only thanks the troops and helps boost their morale but i also hope it thanked those locals who, time after time pay the nations respects everytime one of our fallen is brought home.

What a long day Sunday was, all in a good cause and a lot of money was raised. :D Looking at your pictures Mick, I should have booked myself on an early one. We arrived at 11.30 and left mid afternoon, the afternoon did in fact turn into a mess, and like most queue’s mine never seemed to move  . I have posted a few shots in my gallery. There were a lot of people getting fed up with the delay, and jumping lines and over grass, I saw one copper almost pull a fella off his bike, big cheer went up.
The ride though the town and villages was amazing, everyone out waving and clapping and cheering, kids wanting to low five as we went passed, and by the time we entered the town I think most people had been in the pubs for quite some time, and they looked very messy.
Saying that they raised a massive amount of money and that’s why we were there :D . Sorry I could not meet up Mick and Henry I was stuck for some hours. :(

No Worries Kieron I look forward to the vids and pics, also sorry to Richard as it was impossible to meet up as we had no idea what time we were going to get out!!!
I hope I have also signed up a new member for our forum on the day as well, Come on Down Darren . How many 675 did I spot?
1 gold, 2 black, and 3 of the rare special edition white with blue frame!!! One on the airfield with his young lady on the back and two in the town.
To rub salt in the wounds the guy I saw at the garage on the white SE had my number plate, my initials. Gutted! And one more back one at the services on the road to Marlborough from Swindon.

One last comment, If you are going to attend a do like this in the future, do not get stuck behind an old trike, Lovely geezers, but the crap that the bloody thing was pushing out all over me and my bike, she’s covered in black oily spots now

The white SE on BBC news wasn’t me, I think that was much earlier on in the day!

  6. Andysjt,

I have just wiewed the"bbc news" clip, and if that's the one you saw, then that's definitely me!

    fkkr1s,

My white SE definitely got there earlier than you at 0745hrs.

I did see a grey 675 with the union flag decalled nose, but I didn't see anyone around it..
