News on the can: Triumph have brought out a new remap that holds the valve shut in the exhaust up to 8000rpm in neutral so should all be good as noise testing is at 6500rpm, valve opens as normal at 4000rpm in all gears just not in neutral. I had the new map done today aswell as the 1st service, the bike is mega such a blast now I can use more revs love it

    Good news !

My thoughts exactly when I heard it for the first time IRL two days ago when I payed a visit to my dealer in order to arrange a test ride for next wednesday. His son just hit the road when I arrived and made my hair stand on end... :)

Well with the remap to hold the exup valve shut while in neutral the arrows read 96db instead of 104 lol so that's that sorted.

Bike was awesome on track front felt a little bit soft but wasn't pushing stupid hard and on the road it feels fine so will leave it as it is for now.

Got talking to a guy who was on a street triple R he was behind me and got some video footage he should be sending it to me so will post up if he does.

The 675R got mugged all day long down the straight by the 1000cc bikes but I was straight back at them in the twistys, It pissed all over the other 600cc bikes and last session had a good tear up with a gsxr 750 I came out on top wooooooooooo hooooooooooooooo

Getting to grips with the bike now done a few miles of twistys today really felt at home on it, only thing I would say is if I go in a bit hot and brake a bit to hard the bike tends to dive and then unsettle the bike. While out today there was a open weekend at a local Ducati dealership so we called in for a free burger etc, onsite there was an ohlins technician doing set ups for £30 so thought it was worth a go, well the diving has defo stopped now bike is even better so happy with it love it haven't felt like this about a bike for many many many years.

I thought the ECUs in the new models were locked down? Do you know how the dealer did the remap?

with a usb type cable and connected to a computer, same as they do when doing any remap for an aftermarket exhaust.

How come TuneECU and Tuneboy no longer work for the new models?

I think you'll find you need to be 'Triumph' to alter the ecu now.

So the dealer has some sort of code or key that allows their software to change the ECU?

I think Triumph have used either an encryped peer to peer ID process or iirc Wyrm thought it maybe a checksum incorporated into the software/hardware of the ecu/programming unit. Either way if it does lock the ecu of a >2013 bike you'll invalidate your warranty with Triumph as they'll have to unlock it, best bet is to wait until Tuneecu or Tuneboy have broken the protection system that's been implemented which should hopefully be within the 2yr warranty period - after that you can do what you want.

Thanks Deegee, very informative. How many hp at the rear wheel are people seeing with the debaffled Arrow end can and the remap?

Rear wheel bhp is an elusive figure to get, it depends on the dyno, dyno operator and placement of the intake air temp sensor, there's a vid on YouTube somewhere of the same car putting out anywhere between 118 & 145 bhp purely on the latter sensor placement. Best thing is to compare different bikes on the same dyno same operator, mine pumps 120 rw bhp on T3's dyno with Dave operating it.

Edit - mines a 2008 decatted and de-exupped, with the SAI removed, running a MWR air filter, a std engine but a custom remap from T3 racing.

120 is good, what work have you done? Just the end can and map?

    Check the edit Doug. :)

  20. It's funny u say that's. had my bike done by Dave at t3 and got 124rwh then what back and had t3 do it again with some over guy forgot his name now but very nice and lost about 5 bhp. Dave come down put his slightly bigger arse on it and instantly got the power back lol so all these figures are a load of crap as long as it's fuelling correctly and smooth that's all that matters
