Hi all well after breaking my scaphoid nearly 14 month ago an having an opp in may and still not healing very well. I was searching the net an came across this EXOGEN system been in contact with them and they are available on the NHS but it like get blood from a stone. But look like there rep is trying to convince my consultant to prescribe one to me finger crossed. Just a heads up to all www.healmybone.com
Sounds like a great idea, would love to know how it works! I’m sure someone has already mentioned this stuff to you but have a read if not, it does work btw. http://www.homeopathyworldcommunity.com ... e=activity
I tried using comfrey oil twice a day from the first week of the break. Lol And then tried table form after my opp. But didn't really seem to do a lot But I swear by homeopathy for hay fever. Also have a could of sessions of acupuncture for hay fever in early spring then summer. Works a treat. Had acupuncture after my opp this one for heal will find out for sure on the 15th what going on. There reckon that the EXOGEN has a 93% Success on scaphoids.
Arh mate sorry to hear your still having grief, hope you get sorted real soon. unfortuately the NHS do seem to drag there heals on some things not all are the same i quess it depends where in the country you live just keep pestering them they want you to give up but hang in there mate
Hi. Hope all goes well. Scaphoids can be a right pain to get to heal. Exogen does work in certain cases. Forgive me for asking, but have to check though - you don't smoke, have any other medical conditions & don't use ibuprofen/diclofenac, either? (feel free to pm for confidentiality) Also curious about the previous op. The bone graft & stimulating substances used can run into the £10k's worth. Main thing is to find out why didn't heal in 1st or 2nd places. All the best! Let us know how you get on.
Not sure if this is all hocus pocus, or if you've heard of the clinic before, but I went to see Brian Simpson over in Ipswich - http://www.physioclinic.net/. Couldn't tell you if it worked as I'd already had mine plated by then, but there are lots and lots of good testimonies on the net and at his clinic.
This is the guy they nicknamed "The Bone Welder", iirc he helped with Leon Camier's leg after the horror smash at Cadders a while back, He's supposed to be very good with breaks and reducing healing times. A lot of the BSB boys have used him.
I heard if him and regret not going in the first place. But at nearly 4 hour drive a the cost of treat meant I couldn't afford it Which make me laugh now as I would of got that money back in the amount of time I've had off.
Wilson need to just smash back heaps of milk. Forget calcium tablets all things like that are not that good at getting into the body. I've had my scaphoid screwed together and bone grafted and also have a 10 inch titanium rod on my lower left leg screwed in the top and bottom. Always keep massive calcium intakes flowing. It takes a lot of time for any bones to heal properly. I was walking on my leg the next day but could feel the bottom of my leg moving independent of the top part until full consolidation.
