+1 on the comfort, mine is usually rammed with kit when I travel between London and Coventry. It distributes the weight perfectly. Wouldn't use anything else after having it.
Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to have a look in some of my local motorcycle dealers and see which size Kriega will suit me best and will then probably take Captain Steffydogs advice and order from the V Customs website.
They are that price as there modular and have a 10yr guarantee?! If you look on there website it states the US parts are quoted as a DB (Dry Bag): US-10 Increase your carrying capacity by 10-litres by adding a US-10 dry pack (100% waterproof main body). Water-resistant zip pocket and mesh pocket on underside. 10-year guarantee. Yet most of the RuckSaks are quoted as water resistant: R20 Pack Layout Main compartment with YKK water-resistant zip. Side access pocket with YKK water-resistant zip. Optional harness pocket (see Kube Pocket). Internal hydration sleeve with compression. Internal zipped mesh-pocket. R30 is the the first one that actually states 100% waterproof.
I would go for the r20 and you can attach a 10 to make it up as long as you don't need 100% waterproof but my r20 has been out in the rain a few times and things have not been wet inside but on a weekend away i might put things in a carrier bag to make sure.
Just a thought i do lot of mountaineering, so all my stuff goes in dry bags in any rucksac even on my bike you can pick them up for under a tenner and i find that nothing gets wet
i have the Kreiga R3 bum bag for when i'm using my one piece leathers and i also have the Kriega R30 rucksack and i would highly recommend either of them. Excellent quality, and very comfortable.
No, but it would be lot more comfortable to wear than the Givi, you will forget you are wearing it, once you have one you will never want to wear another rucksack.
