    Guys,

The dreaded time has come to renew my insurance,Currently with KGM insurance through H&R insurance broker. I've been a bit naughty over the past 2 years of riding insuring my bike TPFT

    Last years quote 350 quid
This Years renewal 340 quid huuuge discount NOT! lol.

Had a little look online MCN compare got a quote of 218 quid TPFT from Express Insurance, not bad huh? age 27, 2 years riding experience, 2 years NCB on a 10 plate D675.

Now i'm getting a bit confident and faster i should really be insuring it fully comp (i know if should have been insured full comp from day 1) , had a quote of 518 quid from Swinton.

what are you guys paying and who with? any tips or specialist insurers worth a try?

    Kind Regards

    Craig.

Paying just over £200 for fully comp Street Triple R with accessories. 6 years no claims. Price for my Daytona was £250 for fully comp but with less no claims bonus.

I am 40. Live in the south west, garaged and used for commuting as well.

  7. i'm with Swinton and paying £300 fully comp, 37years young, clean license and 4 years no claims bonus. It's cheaper to insure than my Audi A4 Diesel.

£155 for a dual bike policy with Carole Nash TPFT insuring a 1 year old striple r and a 12 year old cb500 (my winter hack :D ), got the full breakdown cover and legal cover on that policy. They did want about £200 but I went to thebikeinsurer and told them I could get the striple r insured for, i think it was about £120, so said what can you do for the two bikes and they came bcak with the £155 quote which I took.

Always worth finding out what your best quote is, then going back to an insurer that you know is trustworthy (well as trustorthy as they get anyway) and asking them to beat or get close to that quote.

Insurance can change alot depending on your postcode and your job. If you are a constrcution worker expect to pay more than say a engineer. Also garage will help your insurance as well as things like alarms and immobilisers and ground anchors to attach you bike to. Oh yes and saying you do less than 3k miles a year will help.

Good luck, I'm sure there is a deal to be done with one of them

Jheez im 22, 3 NCB i think ,fully comp £400 with carol nash seems postal code makes a bigger difference with bikes

  15. Now that is sickening!!! I should have tried Carole Nash...

  16. Or maybe not.... just tried CN online quote - came out @ £2126 !!!!! £3k fully comp! Wow......

Just goes to show, as always, insurance prices are very individual to the person and what company works for one person doesn't always work for another. Surprising still though!

The thing I've noticed with H&R is that they send you poor reneval offers. I needed to qet a new quote which came to the above ammount.

  18. I bought mine on 1st march this year, 12plate D675R, riding 8 years. 3 years no claims, garaged, locks alarm immobiliser and tracker, only wanted fully comp, got it for £623 with £500 voluntary excess and £500 mandatory excess, I had quotes for £6500 and £4500 before finding the one I have with Mce...

This is very true. There is little point in comparing insurance prices people pay as the range is very wide as there are so many variables. I would say postcode is the biggest factor. A London postcode can add £1000.

For what it's worth I just paid £1600 for my renewal (FC but with a big excess). Compared to all other quotes that was a bargain...
