Just finished putting the bike back together and was hoping to start it but not having it.It doesn’t even seem to get the fuel pump in action ready to go let alone turn over. All I’ve swapped is the engine and also put a gen 2 ecu in,which like everything else just plugged straight in.
Wondering if anyone out there has some experience and advice that might help me.
    Cheers Nik

I did think this myself but if the circuit is closed or open if the bikes in neutral it should still start right. Thanks for your thoughts none the less

  4. No experience with engine swaps but what about the tip over sensor, assume that would stop the fuel pump/start?
Other than that Tuneecu would be a really useful tool, can see all the safety interlocks and sensor states, and activate fuel pump and other things manually to check relays & wiring.

did you swap the cluster as well?

The ecu and the cluster must be of the same year.
    09-12 or 06-08

If you used the gen2 ecu, with the gen1 cluster it will not start.

  6. Do they have to be "paired" as well, or just the same gen?

A couple of things to have a look at their then.
I completely overlooked the importance of compatibility between the clocks and ecu.I have a gen 1 ecu in the garage I can try and I shall also check the tip over switch connection and positioning. Will let you know.
    Cheers for the help folks.

Only paired(coded) on the gen 3 bike.

For gen1 and gen2 bikes, they only have to be from the same gen

For gen 3, as Nik said

  10. Good to know, wasn't sure because I have a gen 3 and know it applies to mine.

Hope the dash swap fixes the OP's problem

Finally made the time to put gen 2 clocks on that match up with the gen 2 ecu.Progress made as it sounds like the fuel pump is coming into action and the bike now turns over. But still won’t start.I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the important of compatibility of injectors. After try to start it on numerous occasions no smell of petrol, which I was expecting.Or maybe I shouldn’t expect this.Would appreciate your knowledge fellow 675 enthusiasts.

Are you sure about the fuel pump priming Nik.?
If it is, then the below information will not apply.
    Nonetheless..
Because you have a Gen 1, and you changed the ECU at one stage...- Is it possible that you may have wrongly allocated the (recall subloom on early Gen 1) fuel pump supply cables so that it is no longer served by a relay.?
Some pertinent reading here Nik.: https://675.cc/threads/two-fuel-pump-connectors.38290/

Deep joy,got the bike running today. Thanks for the good advice folks but the solution came to me when I woke up the other day.Tried the gen 1 ecu and also made sure of a definite click when connecting the fuel hose to the pump( I know a very basic error).
Either way I now have bike I can proceed to finish putting back together when some small parts come in.The poor machine has been an emergency donor for a few bits for my race bike over the last 2 years.
    Regards Nik
