It’s the seats they pull your pants down with mate. £90 each to sit in woodcote. Like you say, hardly surprising to see so many empty stands - that and there’s a hell of a lot of them (no idea what the capacity is, it must be 150k?). Has anyone seen an attendance figure yet?
How much can you actually see from “general admission” though? As it’s a big and flat circuit, I don’t expect much - just going from what you can see at the infield at Donington (Craner curves). Day at the GP in decent seats, or day riding the circuit for (almost) the same cost and watch it on BT/catch up - no contest for me. If it was £40/70 entry/stands then I’d be there. £90/120 just to get in is just too keen for us non-Saarfaners
I only had general admission tickets for sunday and sat at abbey had a reasonable view of that section of track and a big screen opposite for the rest of the track. Only downside I had was not being able to get in the shade it was bloody hot! We didn't stay for the talent cup race at the end because my wife (8 months pregnant) was cooking. I do think tickets are a tad too expensive for what you get (4 races). Wife, 11 year old daughter and myself did day of champions with paddock passes, daughter was desperate to meet Valentino, which she did after waiting patiently for over 3hrs but was worth the wait she was chuffed to bits with her signature and selfie. I was back to work fri and Saturday Sunday was just general admission tickets for me and the wife while daughter became 10 years old to get in free. I cant remember exactly how much I paid because we ordered tickets on line as soon as they were available but it was around £350. Day of champions we spent nearly £100 on food and water! Race day we took our own food and drink lol. Was it worth it??? I would say yes! We spent two days together as a family and everyone got something out of the experience, it's a thumbs up from us.
Fair enough - sometimes you can’t put a price on meeting your heroes, especially if your daughters heroes include Rossi! Impressive effort by Mrs @Farmer at 8mths too in the heat! Sure I’d have struggled just carrying myself on Sunday!
Yep, easy to stand there like a grinning chimp and pretend youre the good guy when you’ve got a 78 point lead (Rossi did it for years!!). My distaste for him as eeked over into moro 2 sadly tho and I got some pretty stern looks when his brother slid out and I stood up cheering. I don’t think its part of their "biker code” but im not 12 years old anymore so f*ck them
That and how he barged his way through the rest of the field at some very dubious places even though he clearly was 2-3 secs a lap faster. He also cheated at the start when his bike stalled by bump starting it on the grid - against the rules and very unsafe if not spotted - you are meant to put your hand up in warning straight away aren’t you? This was after race direction had already dicked Miller (who was on pole) by allowing everyone else to switch tyres on the grid after he made the brave tyre choice. Marquez and Rossi may (have) be(en) the main draws, but no one should be above the rules. Nothing new though, MM parked it into the side of Lorenzo at the end of the straight in Texas too, using him as an auxiliary brake to win the race, if memory serves me correctly.
Its been great watching rins take him down a peg or two over the last 2 or 3 rounds, be great if they develop a proper rivalry over the next 5-10 years and rins fully develops into one of the “aliens” (you hardly hear that anymore do you?). Cant see many touching him otherwise (and he knows it)
Agreed, I would not want someone trying that on me there! Absolutely no need for it, he’d have been past Cal before the entry into turn 1. Good race though - worth watching on catch up
Championship sewn up, surplus power that no one can seemingly get near and he did that? Surprised 35 kept quiet when crafar gave him the opportunity to say something about it tbh, although he’s probably getting bored of saying it by now. Fantastic Moto 3 race (as always) too. I am starting to see (and hear) what a lot of people don’t seem to like in heuwen too. The man misses so much just talking excited nonsense it’s nuts. He calls m lav the professor because he “doesn’t miss anything”...., that’s cos he’s not singing sweet low sweet chariot while 3 bikes slide off down lukey heights you massive beaut.
Pissed off with Crutchlow shaking #wanker's hand after the finish line! I would've knocked him off his bike I want a job as his mechanic so I can mess with his bike
Lolz. Generic Facebook internet hero says that makes you a very bad bike fan legs. (I was just hoping he'd get twatted by one of those seagulls.)
Cal must be a fanboy I really wasn't a fan of his from some of his antics in moto 2 and I thought he would have his arsenal handed to him on a plate in MotoGP. What I do like about him is he always goes about his job with a smile even if things go wrong and you can't deny his talent, but I still with all that talent there is no need to pull these dodgy moves on people. I understand that he wants to pass and possible win but a at what cost. Shows zero respect for other riders. Although there has been some good racing this year involving him I do think I would be a better championship without him as as WSB would be without JR. I think the organisers should shake things up a bit once you one 2 championships with the same manufacturer you have to move to another or sit out for 2 years
