Hi lads, I've just bought a Spyke 4race suit. It's fantastic and I'm very happy with it however the knee slider Velcro set-up seems to be the opposite to any of my other suits. This is making it very difficult to get replacement sliders as most of them have the hard Velcro on the slider. Spyke seem to have the soft side of the Velcro on the slider? Any advice would be great…
Yes I could just use Spyke sliders but it's the Spyke sliders that are the problem. Compared to my Dainese ones they feel much softer and grip the track much more. This is very distracting when leaned over on the gas. My plan is to stitch two sheets of loop Velcro together and just apply the patch to the existing hook Velcro patch on the suit. This should allow me use a wider range of sliders.
I had the same problem and Wiz are the way to go. Much better to put the Velcro loop on the slider rather than the suit as that's the bit that wears but that you replace. Always wondered why the other manufacturers went the other way
Perhaps to help reduce the useable lifespan of their racesuits.? -My Spkye onesie is getting on a bit & still fine for when I go surfing.
It's usually the soft velcro that wears out not the hard. You can give the soft a bit of a haircut to revive it. I think I got that right according to @treesr
? Must of said that in my sleep.. never heard that before... you just hand me your worn out velcro and I sew on new bits
