Took mine in for a service then went out on this for a ride. It's actually pretty good fun and up and down quick shifter. It's pretty rapid as well and surprisingly good in the corners. BMW really have worked wonders on the 1200 boxer engine, smooth and hardly any vibrations. It's massive though :)

I do like Thruxton but if buying one and adding a few extras and can soon get to 13/14k and then your talking Norton prices and I think it would be a hard desision what to go for

  3. Rode the length of the A272 across the South Downs on this little baby kindly lent to me by Jack Lilley.

Perfect weather, stunning roads.....not much to grumble about today ImageUploadedBy675cc1462369942.987942.jpg

Rode the RX to local Kawasaki dealers and took the new zx10 out f-ck me long time since been on a 1000 warp speed, couple of little things that are not good IMO dash is rubbish rear brake doesn't have one and it had on the akrapovic slip on couldn't hear it at all euro 4 have strangled it, decat pipe needed. I found it to be like riding a 600 but with 205 bhp so light and flick able .

    I like that Speed Triple.

  6. It's nice. It's the first one that's made me think I might chop mine in. What was it like @RainDanceKid ?

I've ridden a tiger sport, with the 1050 engine, albeit in a different state of tune. It's one of the best engines. I love the wail from our 675, and the 1050 is too heavy a lump for a sportsbike really, but so lovely, smooth, torquey.

The Speed Triple R would be in the running for my sunny Sunday bike, if I didn't do the occasional track day - that's what keeps me on a sports bike.

It'd certainly be in my lottery-win money-no-object air conditioned and dehumidified hanger, with many other bikes, cars and planes...

  8. It definitely brings out the hooligan in you! Very punchy engine, lots of torque. Despite the power it's very confidence inspiring as it handles really easily. Its also really comfortable - I covered around 230 miles today and feeling relatively fresh compared to the Daytona!

You're spot on. I have same feeling on mine.
Traded my 2006 S3 in for same 'r' 2 weeks ago

It finally has the flick-ability & sharp handling of my Daytona racer but still the great grunt & sound of a S3. Ride-by-wire is super smooth and this electronic trickery together with Öhlins and very high standard of craftsmanship makes the S3 enter the future. I do like the new modern looking oval angry eyes and hunched look too, they make me forget the famous bug eyed bully it used to be.

  10. Love the look of the new speed! I very nearly went for one but I reckon my licence wouldn't last long! I can't behave myself on big nakeds...

Quick zip down to west bay for bit of sun sand and suffering. Luckily I picked the sunniest day of the half term week to try get some good shots of my bike with tasty backdrop! So wall to wall traffic, screaming kids, p*ssed off parents, battery on my canon dead as a dodo, and I managed to chew two holes in my cheeks either side eating chewing gum too much with my helmet on.
It astounds me how I keep managing to make such infallible, quality life choices. Still, overtaking miles of traffic, my fave, and then a very nice man in helmet city gave my arai some tlc. Bought another visor and we chatted TT, so not a completely wasted pm.

How did you get it through mot? Lol

  14. The mot place doesn't care for the exhaust was more interested in the damn tyres :(

Always passes, though I thought the decat and pipe would cause issues.

Only an advisory :) on exhaust leak and that's fixed with a new gasket

    Well, not today, but Thursday..

    London
    Berkshire
    Oxfordshire
    Gloucestershire
    Worcestershire
    Herefordshire
Wales (who knows which bit, eastern Wales!)
    Shropshire
    Staffordshire
    Derbyshire
    Yorkshire (obviously the best county)

    345 miles.

First two hours were rubbish. Busy, cold, busy, bit wet. Did I mention busy? It got warm and sunny west of Oxford.
The rest, especially Worcestershire to Staffordshire, was honestly the best time I've had on UK roads in years. Once you go that far west, there aren't many people.... I live in the wrong area.

I did a fair bit of planning, I planned it all off Best Biking Roads and it paid off.

    I was knackered!

But this accelerates my desire to leave the rammed packed, flat and expensive south east...

Tomorrow I do a quick stint to a B&B I've booked in Betws-y-coed then Monday home snowdonia - Brecon and then east.

Its great out there. The road surfaces notably improve in Wales too. But watch out for the police. I was lucky with a police speed van just parking up. It'd have had me. Enjoy.

  17. Parked up waiting for my mate to join me so why not get some sun XD ImageUploadedBy675cc1465125434.651449.jpg
